She is semiretired and has been with Road Scholar for over a decade, working mostly in Scotland and London. Prior to that, she would front telecom conferences all over the world. Christina Holttum is London born and bred and has spent most of her life living within its orbit. Barbara McLean was born in Canada to Scottish parents, and has lived and worked in Scotland her whole life. An expert on the historical, cultural and scenic treasures of this fascinating country, her particular passion is literature. She has been fortunate enough to work with some of Scotland's greatest contemporary authors, and has spent her career working in publishing, broadcasting, and teaching.
Emily Tait has spent most of her life in Scotland, and she is deeply passionate about her country's history. Her career has been predominantly in hospitality and putting together both small- and large-scale, immensely successful events all over the country. She studied history at Stirling University as a mature student and went on to take the Blue Badge course.
Rowena Jay lives in and continue to enjoy the beautiful Western Scottish Highlands near the dramatic and historic Glencoe. She is fascinated by the history, geology, and natural environment that surrounds her. She has worked, explored, and climbed in the mountainous areas of England and Scotland all her life and has now retired from a lifetime of being a registered nurse. She has also been a mountain leader for 30 years and continues to enjoy taking groups into the wild and wonderful countryside.
