Road Scholar Ambassador Team

A senior instructor holding a microphone addresses a group of adults in a classroom for a lifelong learning course.

"I love going to libraries and senior expos to talk about Road Scholar. I get to relive my Road Scholar adventures each time I talk to a group or individual. At a library event, I explain about Road Scholar then take people on an adventure to one or more of my trips with Road Scholar. That way, people see how much of an education component is included in the Road Scholar journeys. At senior expos, I have a video of my Costa Rica adventure running on a computer so people can see the beautiful scenery, birds, animals, and local people."

- Marsi O'Malley-Riley

"Representing Road Scholar in a positive light has given me many opportunities to meet new people and share the pleasure that I derived from my adventures. When I am searching through my personal photos for additional pieces to the presentations, it reminds me of the history of cultures (and some new skills) that I learned about, the fellow travelers who shared my experiences and the local people who provided me with moments that would never have been possible without Road Scholar. The smiles on the faces of the people when I present, and the thoughtful questions asked by attendees about why I travel are part of the pleasure. It's fun to talk to people who want to know more about my experiences. I hope that by explaining the benefits of the programs, I encourage other folks to enjoy traveling with Road Scholar - great educational opportunities, wonderful like-minded fellow travelers and being exposed to histories and cultures, I always end my presentation with my mother's quote, "Go now! It's hard to get on airplanes when you are 89.""
