Afternoon: 4:00 pm - hotel check in begins. Program materials will be provided upon check in at the hotel. Explore the hotel neighborhood. 5:00 pm - program information desk open on hotel's mezzanine level. If you have questions - please visit desk which is open until 6:00 pm.
Dinner: 6:45 pm - buffet dinner at the hotel. Meet and enjoy a meal with your fellow participants.
Evening: 7:45 pm - staff led orientation of the program and Washington, DC. Usually concludes around 8:45 pm.
Breakfast: A buffet will be served at the hotel.
Morning: A seminar (possible topics include the media, international relations, current issues and the judiciary) will be followed by visit to Thomas Jefferson Memorial.
Lunch: Lunch near the John F. Kennedy Center..
Afternoon: Tour of the Kennedy Center is followed by visit to an embassy in Washington DC. Exploration of a memorial along the National Mall.
Dinner: Dinner will be at a Southern themed restaurant in the hotel neighborhood.
Evening: Exporation of the White House Neighborhood.
Breakfast: A buffet will be provided at the hotel.
Morning: A seminar (possible topics include the media, international relations, current issues and the judiciary) will be followed by visits to the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Korean War Veterans Memorial.
Lunch: Lunch at the National Gallery of Art's Cascade Cafe.
Afternoon: Explore the National Gallery of Art's collections. The West Building contains more traditional art while the East Building speaks to all that is modern.
Dinner: Enjoy a meal with group at a local restaurant in Arlington or Washington.
Breakfast: Breakfast will be a buffet at the hotel.
Morning: An orientation to Capitol Hill will be followed by visits to the Capitol and and the Library of Congress.
Lunch: Lunch on Capitol Hill.
Afternoon: Sit in the Supreme Court and hear about its history and traditions. Meetings with Representatives (or their staff) can be arranged on your behalf. A Smithsonian Museum option will be offered.
Dinner: You are on your own for dinner this evening. Our staff can make suggestions in the hotel neighborhood or in downtown DC.
Evening: This is your free evening. After a long day on Capitol Hill or at the Smithsonian museums, enjoy some time on your own.
Breakfast: A breakfast buffet will be served at the hotel.
Morning: A seminar on a current political issue is followed by a visit to the FDR and MLK memorials.
Lunch: Lunch will be on your own at one of the Smithsonian museum cafes.
Afternoon: Free time will be provided for exploration of two Smithsonian Institution Museums.
Dinner: Tonight, group will dine at a neighborhood bistro famous for its wood fired grill.
Evening: Enjoy a live performance at a local theater (Arena Stage, National Theater, Ford's Theatre, Signature Theater) on your final night in the nation's capital.
Breakfast: A breakfast buffet will be provided at the hotel.
Morning: A seminar at the hotel will be followed by closing remarks which are generally concluded by 10:45 am. Hotel check out is 12:00 pm, but luggage storage is available if your departure is later in the day.
