Activity Level
From reforestation to cultural traditions, trace the parallels of conservation and community in Trinidad and Tobago through an immersive service learning experience. Join other Road Scholars at the Fondes Amandes Community Reforestation Project and work together to contribute to the organization’s mission of environmental education and protection. Continue your service learning journey with Nature Seekers and complete hands-on work to further their goal of protecting sea turtles. Along the way, delve into local cultural experiences like attending a jewelry-making class and engaging in discussions with artisans. You’ll come away with a vivid picture of two sides of Trinidad and Tobago: conservation and culture.

  • Experience the isolated community of Matura, a hidden gem renowned for its prime habitat for turtles.
  • Explore Trinidad and Tobago’s unique history, including its cultural and religious diversity, through visits to museums and local heritage sites.
Activity Level
Keep the Pace
Walking up to three hours at a time over varied terrain. Ascending and descending steep and irregular steps, without railings. Must be physically capable of participating in all planned program activities.
