St. Louis’ position near the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers gives it a central place in the American story. This is where Lewis and Clark struck out for the Northwest. Where jazz made its mark on its move northward. Where the world gathered for an exhibition of epic proportions and where battles for freedom and equality played out. On this learning adventure, trace St. Louis’ journey from a small trading post to a great American city. Learn the story of the 1904 World’s Fair, where innovation — and controversy — grabbed the headlines. Visit the Old Courthouse where the Dred Scott Case was first tried in the lead-up to the Civil War. Study the city’s rich music history including jazz and blues. Ascend the Gateway Arch, the tallest in the world. Walk historic neighborhoods, hear about the city’s brewing heritage, explore its spectacular botanical gardens and more!
Best of all, you'll...
  • Ride a tram to the top of the Eero Saarinen-designed Gateway Arch — at 630 feet, the tallest in the world.
  • Explore the fascinating history of the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair, aka the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, at the Missouri History Museum and at the Forest Park pavilion built with the fair’s proceeds.
  • Enjoy the National Blues Museum, the only museum dedicated to the story of the blues.
