Carved into the hills of Spain’s Sierra Mountains are small villages overlooking the sparkling sea. Each of these pueblos blancos – or white villages – are known for their bright white homes with tiled roofs, a beautiful contrast against the verdant countryside. On this enriching two-week journey, venture off the beaten path to explore the treasures of these towns and their deep-rooted history. Along the way, meet the locals that make these pueblos blancos truly unique. Immerse yourself in a side of Spain few experience as you learn the beautiful secrets each city holds.

Elena Moro
Elena Moro, born in Australia to an Andalusian family, is a professional Flamenco dancer. She began at the age of 5 and has toured all over Australia and parts of Asia with a Flamenco dance company. After many years traveling back and forth with dance scholarships, Elena now lives in Seville. She has worked with Road Scholar for almost ten years as a Group Leader and travelled to most parts of Spain.

Lucia Gonzalez
Lucía González has been leading groups since 2009, having worked in Norway and Scandinavia. Along with her travel leader studies, she took several languages, and has led groups around Europe in Spanish, English, French, German, and Italian. She is also a Spanish teacher, and is currently enrolled in an art history degree program. Lucía is passionate about traveling, both as a professional and as a free-spirited traveler.

Carolina Molina
Carolina Molina has a degree in philology and a master's degree in linguistics, cultural, and literature studies for which she was awarded summa cum laude at the University of Sevilla. She is passionate about education, languages, and exploring different cultures and their history. Her current main field of interest and research is psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics. For over two decades, she has taught English, Spanish, and classes related to the field of humanities such as the history of Spain, intercultural management, and cultural development.

Extensive walking (3-5 miles, approx. 2-4 hours, at a steady pace, some days in a row). In many of our visits we will encounter winding or hilly roads as well as cobblestone streets and sidewalks. Comfortable and sturdy footwear is a necessity.
