Ancient Peoples of the American Southwest
The American Southwest is home to some of the most remarkable monuments of America's prehistoric past, such as Chaco Canyon and Mesa Verde. Stephen Plog, who has spent decades working in the region, provides the most readable and up-to-date account of the predecessors of the modern Hopi and Pueblo Indian cultures in this well-received account. Chaco Canyon became the center of a thriving Anasazi cultural tradition. It was the hub of a trading network extending over hundreds of miles, whose arteries were a series of extraordinary roads that are still being discovered and mapped. Interweaving the latest archaeological evidence with early first-person accounts, Professor Plog explains the rise and mysterious fall of Southwestern cultures. 224pp.
Arizona: A Cavalcade of History
During America's first 100 years as a nation, pioneers moved ever-westward to new frontiers. When it became too crowded or the soil was mined out, they moved on to virgin land. Those days are gone forever. We have to learn to live with the problems we create. The knowledge gained from studying the mistakes of the past can help provide a better future. Will Rogers said it best: "The Indians never got lost because they were always looking back to see where they'd been." 368pp
Secret Sedona: Sacred Moments in the Landscape
This book provides an overview of the terrain, ancestral Indian ruins and petroglyphs found in Sedona's wilderness areas. Extraordinary photography from one of the nations most photogenic areas. 80 pages.

In the usual Robert Trent Jones manner, the fairways are classic tree lined doglegs with fairway bunkers strategically placed in the landing areas. Just be aware that some golfers are beginners, and the play can be slowed during afternoon golfing. Just remember, we were all new golfers at one time.

The Sedona golf trip exceeded all my expectations! The leader, other participants, golf courses and instruction were fantastic! Sedona is an amazing place to golf!
— Review left May 5, 2023
Hilton Red Rock accommodations were amazing. Three different golf courses were excellent that we played on. The instruction by the pros were helpful. It is very active program with very little down time. The program was a nice balance with the additional trolley ride to see the exquisite area of Sedona and later The Montezuma ruins .I have gone on 3 other Road Scholar golf trips and I will say this was the best over all. Check the weather on different program dates!!

— Review left May 1, 2022
Sedona is magical, the golf courses are beautiful, exploring the splendors of Sedona was breathtaking; however, I think the new friendships will be the most memorable. I am already planning my next Road Scholar adventure.
— Review left May 1, 2022
What a fun group of people. The scenery was stunning, the golf lessons very helpful, and the courses challenging. But the best was making friends from all over the US. Well run event with enough free time to explore a bit on our own.

The beauty of the Sedona golf courses combined with the breadth of subjects covered in the clinics make this a top golf learning experience.
