In the final lecture of this three-part series, go behind the scenes at Mote Aquarium in a live, interactive broadcast from the shark habitat. Join Jason Robertshaw, certified Florida Master Naturalist and Program Manager at Mote Marine Laboratory, for an up-close look at the care, training and research supporting sharks living at the Mote Science Education Aquarium. Featuring several species on display, this lecture connects what we observe under human care to the remarkable diversity of more than 500 shark species worldwide and explores how aquarium-based research and public engagement contribute to shark conservation.

General Notes

This lecture is the third in a series of three lectures. To attend the full series, please also enroll in "Dr. Eugenie Clark — The Shark Lady" (#25719) scheduled on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 1 p.m. (ET)/ 10 a.m. (PT), and "Sharks After "Jaws" — Science, Myths & Conservation" (#25720) on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 1 p.m. (ET)/ 10 a.m. (PT). The cost is $25 per lecture. Your online lecture will take place live over the course of 1-2 hours. All times are listed in the EASTERN time zone. If you live in a different time zone, please adjust your schedule accordingly. This live online experience uses Zoom Webinar, an easy-to-use web video service that includes closed captioning. All you need is an Internet connection and your computer. You will receive a confirmation email when you enroll, and a reminder email one week and one day before, as well as the morning of the event with a link and instructions on how to tune in. You will not be pictured on screen during the lecture, but you will have the opportunity to ask the instructor live questions using the Q&A box. Unless otherwise noted, all those who enroll in this program receive access to the live event as well as a recording of the lecture that you can watch any time within the two weeks following the live event.

Jason Robertshaw

Jason Robertshaw is a programs manager at Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium. He designs and delivers STEM distance learning programs for all ages, including Mote's award-winning SEA Trek program. Jason manages educational technologies, produces multimedia content, and leads Mote's “Endless Oceans” lifelong learning program. He has a background in public television and environmental project management for the state of Florida. Jason is a certified Florida Master Naturalist and Instructor, and serves as a board member for multiple organizations.
