Throughout the towering cliffs and awe-inspiring shores of the Amalfi Coast lie ancient ruins, bustling piazzas, terraced gardens and layered cultural traditions inviting deeper exploration. Accompanied by other Road Scholar women, look beyond the scenery and step into the history, archaeology and daily life of southern Italy. Walk the preserved streets of Pompeii and Herculaneum with experts, explore medieval towns and coastal villages and visit historic sites including Villa Rufolo and Paestum’s remarkably preserved Greek temples. Learn about Italy’s past and present through lectures on regional history, politics and cuisine, then experience these traditions firsthand during cooking demonstrations, artisan visits and tastings of local specialties like mozzarella and olive oil. From Sorrento’s vibrant streets to Capri’s gardens and Amalfi’s coastal beauty, discover how centuries of history, art and local craftsmanship continue to shape life along the Bay of Naples — all while sharing the experience with fellow Road Scholar women.
