Begin your journey in the capital, Muscat, a picturesque coastal city home to Oman’s largest and most important Islamic place of worship. Continue learning in Salalah and get a taste of Oman’s natural wonders, like the Dhofar Mountains and their dramatic sinkholes and soaring peaks. This region is also the heart of the ancient frankincense trade, where the revered resin has been harvested for over 5,000 years. Search for sea turtles and learn about shipbuilding traditions in Sur and delve into history at the archaeological sites of Bat, Al-Khutm and Al-Ayn, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. All along the way, enjoy opportunities to immerse yourself in Oman’s local life and experience its culture.
