Online Lecture: Sacred Rituals of Movement — Expressions in the Modern World

This is the second lecture in a two-part series exploring ritualized movement across religious and cultural traditions. Turning to contemporary life, Dr. Robert Weiner will examine how sacred and secular movements — such as parades, pilgrimages, sporting events and graduation ceremonies — continue to shape the modern world. In particular, he will focus on how seemingly secular practices exhibit many of the same qualities of ritual and sacredness that are usually attributed to religion. Join Dr. Weiner for a closer look at how these embodied rituals persist today and what they reveal about spiritual and social life in the modern world.

This lecture is the second in a series of two lectures.
