Its breathtaking views and centuries-old traditions create a tapestry of unique stories that deserve to be discovered. Over the course of six weeks, live like a local in this coastal town and take daily language classes to improve your Italian. You’ll be supported by a Road Scholar Group Leader who’s always on call to help.
Best of all, you'll...
  • Live like a local in independent, centrally located apartment accommodations in Sorrento and become familiar with local markets, restaurants and more.
  • Join your Group Leader for field trips to Pompeii and museums like the Archaeological Museum of Naples.
  • Explore the upper part of the Amalfi Coast where sustainability runs in the veins of locals, experiencing panoramic views and close contacts with nature.
Activity Level
Let's Go!
Daily life will require up to 2 miles of walking over uneven terrain with slopes on your own. Additional daily walking will be needed for grocery shopping, sightseeing, attending activities, and group meals. Expect uneven terrain, cobblestone streets, and many unavoidable stairs, some without railings. Field trips will require walking up to 2 miles per day on uneven ground and extended periods of standing, often with few benches or seating available. Please refer to day to day activities for details. Due to terrain and pacing, wheelchairs and scooters cannot be accommodated on this program. Must be physically capable of participating in all planned program activities.
Small Group (13 to 24)
Love to learn and explore in a small-group setting? These adventures offer small, personal experiences with groups of 13 to 24 participants.
