After you enroll, we’ll ask you to provide or update your personal information and preferences, which includes your health information, lodging and meal preferences for your program.

Italy is a member of the Schengen Agreement, a set of European and national standards governing different types of visas. As a result of this agreement, Americans may visit the country for up to 90 days without a visa, provided they have a US passport valid for at least six months from the planned date of departure from the EU.

A passport is required for this program. It must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date.

If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

Meet the group at Corso Italia Suites in Sorrento (NA)

Start of Trip:  3:00 p.m. residence check-in; 6:00 p.m. Orientation followed by Welcome Dinner.

Getting to the site: To reach the program site from the airport on your own, you a have few options. At the information desk in the airport arrivals terminal, you can get the most updated bus timetables. Please check Naples Airport website for more info: https://www.aeroportodinapoli.it/info-and-services/transport -Bus: the Alibus / ANM provides shuttle bus every 25 minutes from Naples Capodichino Airport to Naples central train Station. The ride is about 15 minutes. Tickets are sold at ANM ticket offices or at the authorized retail outlets (newsagents, bars) near the airport. Ticket must be stamped as soon as you get on the bus and keep it until you get off the bus. It is possible to buy Alibus ticket also at the airport, at the vending machines, located on the ground floor of the arrivals area. -Or -Walk from Naples Central train station to Naples Piazza Garibaldi train station (10 minutes' walk). -Train: www.trenitalia.com : The Circumvesuviana provides train services every 40 minutes from Naples Piazza Garibaldi train station to Sorrento train station. The ride is about 1 hour. The distance from Sorrento train station to the residence is about 0.5 miles approximately 8 minutes' walk. Taxi: outside the airport arrival area, there will be taxis. The ride from Naples Airport to Sorrento is about 1.5 hours. We cannot quote these services as they are public transportations. Private transfers can be arranged in advance at an additional cost. Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar are eligible to take advantage of the designated group transfers: Arrivals: transfers from the airport to the start location will take place between 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the first scheduled day of the program. Departures: transfer from the end location to the airport will take place between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on the last scheduled day of the program. The airport is approximately 1 hour from the hotel, your flight must depart no earlier than 6:15 a.m. Participants must notify Road Scholar of their flight arrangements no later than 30 days prior to departure by calling 1-800-454-5768. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. ET. If your flight is delayed or cancelled causing the flight to be outside of the designated transfer times, please contact your Group Leader.
