Grab your hiking shoes for a women-only adventure through the Southern Blue Ridge Mountains, where scenic trails and stunning natural wonders abound. In a small group, hike with a knowledgeable naturalist who will share her expertise on wildflowers, mountain ecosystems and the rich biodiversity of the region. Walk through the lush Nantahala National Forest, soaking in breathtaking views as you explore the unique flora and fauna. Each evening, unwind as you’re immersed in captivating tales of Appalachian folklore and the natural history that shapes the land. From hiking Pickens Nose to summiting Siler Bald, this journey will deepen your connection to the wild beauty of the mountains, all while bonding with other women who love the outdoors as much as you do.

  • Explore with other women adventurers and hike to breathtaking elevations above 5,000 feet, including the summit of Siler Bald, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Southern Blue Ridge Mountains stretching for miles.
  • Traverse stunning ridges, like Pickens Nose, where you’ll take in awe-inspiring views and marvel at the natural beauty of the landscape, including the striking Big Laurel Falls.
  • Explore the "Chunky Gal" Trail with a local naturalist, learning about the region’s unique ecosystems, geological history, and the wildlife that thrives in these ancient mountains.

Elizabeth (Liz) Domingue is a professional naturalist, educator, nature photographer, and guide with extensive experience hiking, backpacking, photographing, and studying the natural world. Her interest in and study of natural history has been her lifelong pursuit and passion. As the originator and operator of Just Get Outdoors, she leads interpretive hikes, photography workshops, and Naturalist Adventure Tours regionally and throughout the US. In all of her programs, Liz encourages awareness, understanding, enjoyment, and stewardship of our natural world.

Linda Flynn
Linda Flynn retired in Asheville, North Carolina, after 25 years as a designer and 25 years as a therapist. Her current passion is walking international “caminos” — with more than 1,200 miles in the last eight years — and hiking in Western North Carolina. She does so love our own rhododendron and laurel, and appreciates finding wildflowers and secret gardens. Linda is also fond of rocks, mosses, ferns, and waterfalls.
