At a Glance

For centuries, explorers risked everything in the race to reach the North Pole. Join polar expedition guide Nicole Flores as she traces the dramatic history of Arctic exploration, from Sir John Franklin’s ill-fated 1845 voyage to the controversial claims of Frederick Cook and Robert Peary. Learn how pioneers like Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen braved extreme conditions with innovative strategies and unyielding determination. This lecture will examine the triumphs, hardships and lingering mysteries of one of the most formidable challenges in the history of exploration.
