Nellie Bly was a pioneer in the world of investigative journalism, writing for Pulitzer’s New York World. In 1887, she spent “10 Days in a Mad-House,” to expose the treatment of female inmates at Blackwell’s Asylum. Join author and lecturer James Dalessandro on an exploration into Nellie Bly’s life and adventures. From exposing bribery in the state legislature to infiltrating a baby-peddling ring run by New York doctors and a forced prostitution ring that involved NYPD officers, Bly survived both abuse and death threats.
