Walking to the courts, 3 hours of instruction and play for the morning, 1 1/2 hours of play in the afternoon.
Breakfast, 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. in the Assembly Inn Dining Room. Is breakfast your favorite meal of the day? Then you're in for a treat! Breakfast options change each day, but will incorporate lots of your favorites. Biscuits and gravy, french toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, hash browns, oatmeal (not the package kind either), and lots of others. Standard offerings include fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, granola, baked pasteries, orange juice (and another kind of juice). Fresh coffee or hot tea will start your morning off right!
Get ready for a week of exercise, fun and honing our pickleball skills! At the Dunn Pavilion (covered recreational area) or the Patricia Cornwell Tennis Center (laykold courts)... depending on weather for the week), we’ll begin with a clinic introducing new players to the game, reviewing the basic strokes, the rules, scoring, and effective court positioning. The clinic will be followed by round robin play, during which the professional staff will be available to provide continuing instruction on the basics taught in the clinic. What fun! A refreshment break (at our play location) will keep us going!
served in the Galax Dining Room of the Assembly Inn.
Starting back shortly after lunch, we'll have an hour and half of free play with coaching tips from our pros. Following play time, there will be an optional walk around Montreat, where you can visit the Heritage Center and hear history stories and learn about some of the buildings and people in Montreat.
Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Assembly Inn Dining Room
Our evening program in Convocation Hall will feature Joshua Messick. Joshua is a North Carolina-based professional hammered dulcimer player, who is inspired by the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and diverse sounds from all over the world. The versatile nature of the hammered dulcimer allows Joshua to explore new sounds and different genres. This inspiration is weaved into his music. You will be amazed as Joshua plays World Fusion, New Acoustic, Classical, Folk, and Traditional Holiday Favorites during his performance. After the performance the rest of the evening is at leisure, with optional activities in the lobby of the Inn for fellowship.
