We will begin with an introductory lecture on Andalusia as we discover how Muslim, Christian, Romani, and Jewish influences have shaped the region. Afterward, join your group leader for a visit to a typical Andalusian weekly market, where the locals buy and sell an eclectic variety of produce from the area. With its sunny microclimate, this region of Spain offers some of the freshest produce in Europe.

We will explore Competa, a white-washed Moorish-Mudéjar village perched high above the sea. Enjoy a stroll through the labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets that date back to Moorish times and take in the spectacular views of the surrounding Almijara Mountains.
