General Notes

2024 marks the 75th Anniversary Festival Season. Its theme is “Becoming Who We Are” and promises a celebration of the Festival’s past and present and the many musicians who have spent formative summers in Aspen. Alumni who have gone on to build stellar careers in the classical music world will return as guest performers. Concert schedules will be announced in late Spring. Included are the two major railroad builders we discuss, General William Jackson Palmer (Denver & Rio Grande) and Otto Mears (tollroads and four small narrow gauge).
