Winter in Southern Europe

Extraordinary Value

  • Most meals, and suggested restaurants by your Group Leader when meals are not included
  • All port taxes, fees and tips
  • Listening devices to hear your instructor no matter where you are in the group
  • Free hotel nights to independently explore popular cities before or after many programs when you purchase our airfare
  • Free transfers when you enroll back-to-back in many programs, completing your winter learning experience
Fewer Crowds Means More Local Experiences

Walk the historic, cobbled streets without pushing your way through the masses. Stroll along the promenades and take in your beautiful surroundings. Walk into a quaint café to enjoy a latte or quietly discover breathtaking art museums. When there’s fewer crowds, you can explore each city like a local, taking in the most beautiful parts of a city as they’re meant to be experienced.

More Time to Experience Historic Masterpieces

Venturing to popular destinations like Rome and Athens during the mellow winter months means shorter lines to some of the world’s most iconic landmarks. During the high season, the Colosseum can have 30,000 visitors a day. However, during the winter, these numbers can be cut in half – and sometimes even more – giving you more time to experience this incredible piece of history. With shorter lines, you’ll spend less time waiting and more time learning about important museums and monuments.

Take in That Beautiful, Mild Weather

Watch the light glitter of the Mediterranean Sea from a gondola in Venice. Let the crisp air dance around you as you walk in the footsteps of Vincent van Gogh. Winter is a lovely and peaceful time to explore Southern Europe, which typically has a milder winter than much of the United States. Escape those dreaded wintertime blues as you journey towards the sunshine and enjoy Europe in destinations with average temperatures in the 50s. Wondering what weather you’ll have on your adventure? Check the monthly average highs and lows under the “Dates and Prices” tab of each program.

“All I can say is ‘go.’ Going off season was wonderful because it’s not crowded or rushed. Our Group Leader really made this program all that it was. She taught us so much about Sicily and its history.”
