This women’s rejuvenation retreat was a truly wonderful experience. My room was comfortable, and while everything had a rustic charm, it was very clean and well maintained. The Land of Buddha grounds are absolutely beautiful—the giant redwoods and natural foliage create an ancient, sacred, and peaceful atmosphere that feels both calming and grounding. The program was well organized, keeping us engaged while allowing just the right amount of free time to rest and reflect. I especially enjoyed learning Qi Gong and plan to continue the practice at home. The meals were healthy, fresh, and flavorful, with a nice variety of options. Fresh fruit and beverages were available at all times, which was a thoughtful touch. The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable—they made me feel genuinely welcome. I came home with a solid beginner’s understanding of self-massage, Qi Gong, and meditation techniques. Overall, this retreat was an excellent introduction to incorporating more mindful self-care into my daily life.

If you are interested in exploring Buddhism, Qigong, and meditation, this program provides an excellent introduction to these practices. The courses are led by highly experienced instructors who share just the right amount of information and instruction to novices, but are open to broader knowledge sharing as participants may request.

This trip was a disappointment. The food was bad. The accommodations were adequate, but for what my friend and I were paying, $500/a night, I would have thought the food would have been good and perhaps towels that if they were in my linen closet, I would have thrown out. We left early and I did not feel it was value for the money.

Learn meditative and gentle exercise techniques you can apply in your life, all in the beauty of the California redwood forest. Sample and appreciate healthy vegetarian foods that are fresh and rich in flavor and dine with good company. Walk the redwoods to appreciate these gentle giants in the forest.

the retreat in the redwoods at the Buddhist center was wonderful. The rooms were clean and warm and the food was delicious. Breige Gormley Walbridge had the itinerary well under control. She was friendly and helpful and I would recommend her to anyone interested in spending time learning new ways of self-care. The group of women who attended with me was a bonus of laughter and support. In all I had a wonderful experience.

The Women's Rejuvenation Retreat in Soquel, California was as much as could be have hoped for. The classes and workshops covered advertised topics, and all levels of vigor were accommodated. The rooms and the food were just right. The instructors knew their stuff. Participants were accorded respect at every level. Non-instructive staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere encouraged friendliness among the participants and helpfulness to each other. Alone time was available if needed. The location is comfortable, and condusive to the atmosphere necessary for rest and rejuvenation, but its isolated location is frustrating to find in an already difficult location of northern California. Please include specific driving instructions for use of every route. Right now, one hiway is favored for directions, Hiway 17, when at least three others are available, but they cause confusion because instructions do not cover them well enough. Most emploees appear to live nearby and probably know each route by heart. I would suggest each route to the Land of Medecine Buddha be driven and instructions and comments be included with program information. It is simply a difficult place to find. GPS is lost once one leaves a major streets. Guessing is not helpful. Taking a wrong turn and attempting to reverse direction is mostly impossible due to narrowness of roads. Please make it easier for R & R participants, especially single participants with no one with them to navigate.

I attended this retreat with my sister. We were so pleased with the program. All of the instructors were excellent. It was a busy schedule, but we didn’t want to miss anything. We enjoyed the friendly, interesting & well traveled group of women. The food could have been more tasty with additional herbs & seasonings. Unfortunately, I came down with covid when I got home & was quite ill for 2 weeks. We hope others did not catch it too. My sister got sick too, but never tested positive for covid. This as our first Road Scholar trip. We hope to go on another next year. Thank you for being there for us, Grace & Shirley

My cousin Linda who was celebrating her birthday after having lived an astounding life following contacting polio at age 2, and I attended this retreat arriving at the same age of 78. It could not have been a more perfect thing to do. The setting, the Qi-gong and meditations sessions and the amazing food were transcendent. I am very grateful for how it all worked out. Especially for Linda who now uses a wheel chair full time and was able to fully participate. The sun was truly shining on us!

The land of the Medicine Buddha was well worth while I learned and practiced somethings a that I am trying to continue in my daily life. I did not realize how important QiGong would be to me. I really didn’t know much about it. The program inspired an interest in it and Buddhism.

If you are looking for a peaceful location set in the beautiful California Redwoods, this is the place for you. I also want to note that even though the meals are 100% vegan, they were so good that I didn't miss meat at all.

The setting is beautiful and peaceful. Falling asleep to the rain was wonderful. We learned about Qigong, self-massage, ecstatic dancing and essential oils and I've continued those practices beyond the rejuvenation week. Five stars.
