At the hotel, we'll step into the rich cultural heritage of the Mi’kmaq people of Epekwitk through a captivating experience of song, poetry, and traditional drumming. Guided by Julie, who has received her teachings from the respected Elders of her community, this immersive presentation invites you to connect with the island’s first people through art, rhythm, and storytelling. Listen to the heartbeat of the drum, feel the wisdom carried in the songs, and above all, enjoy this unforgettable journey through the living history of the Mi’kmaq of Prince Edward Island. Next, we will travel by motorcoach to Prince Edward Island National Park for a guided walk along the Homestead Trails. Explore coastal dune systems, native plant communities, and shoreline dynamics while learning how wind, waves, and climate influence this fragile environment. Discuss current conservation strategies that balance public access with habitat protection. Afterwards, the group will transfer by motorcoach to Park Corner to visit the Anne of Green Gables Museum. We will explore how the island’s landscapes influenced Lucy Maud Montgomery’s writing and how her work continues to shape Prince Edward Island’s cultural identity. Discover a collection of meaningful artifacts, including Anne’s Enchanted Bookcase, the organ that played her wedding march, the Crazy Patchwork Quilt, and the Blue Chest from The Story Girl, along with personal memorabilia from the author’s life.
