After you enroll, we’ll ask you to provide or update your personal information and preferences, which includes your health information, lodging and meal preferences for your program.

A passport is required for this program. It must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date.

There are no health warnings or inoculations required to visit Mongolia at this time. It’s always wise to check with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control before you go.

If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

Meet the group at Best Western Premier Tuushin in UlaanBaatar

Start of Trip:  Check-in on arrival; 5:00 p.m. Orientation followed by Welcome Dinner.

Getting to the site: A group arrival transfer is organized for all participants who purchase an air-inclusive program and arrive on the scheduled program start date. Independent travelers may take a taxi from the airport to the hotel or arrange for a private transfer through the program provider. The designated group transfer is available to independent travelers who arrive on the Road Scholar booked group flights at no additional cost. The drive from the airport to the hotel can be 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic. If you booked your flights with Road Scholar and are arriving on the scheduled arrival day, proceed to the arrival hall to look for RS staff / signage after you've collected your luggage to meet up for the transfer. We have arranged early check in so that you have immediate access to your room on your arrival after an overnight flight.

End of Trip: 6:00 a.m. transfer to the Chinggis Khan International Airport (UBN).

Independent travelers may order a taxi to the airport through hotel's concierge or arrange for a private transfer through the program provider. The designated group transfer is available to independent travelers who depart on the group flight at no additional cost. The drive from the hotel to the airport can be 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic.

Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar are responsible for making their own transfer arrangements to the first site at the beginning of the program, as well as from the last site at the end of the program. The Information Packet Road Scholar sends in advance of the program includes details needed to make your transfer arrangements. If you wish to purchase airfare through Road Scholar, please call (800) 241-1404. Please note: In the unlikely event Road Scholar must make changes to the program's arrival or departure details, we will notify all participants as soon as possible. Participants who have purchased Road Scholar airfare are protected against airline change fees; however, anyone who has not purchased Road Scholar airfare will be required to make their own adjustments and may incur fees imposed by the airline.
