If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

Meet the group at Temple Gate Hotel in Ennis

Start of Trip:  1:00 p.m. lunch; 3:00 p.m. hotel check-in; 5:00 p.m. Orientation; 7:00 p.m. Welcome Dinner.

Getting to the site: A taxi from the airport to the hotel should typically cost between EUR40 and EUR 50 (2023 prices) and is approximately 15 miles. Route 51 buses have Cork Bus Station as their final destination, and route 343 buses have Limerick Bus Station as their final destination. The bus journey takes approximately 30 minutes, with departures on each route approximately once per hour. If you are unsure, ask the driver to tell you once you have arrived in Ennis. The journey should typically cost approximately €7 to €10 (2023 prices). The hotel is located approximately 2300 feet from Ennis Bus Station. Leaving the bus station on foot, turn left at the end of Station View and walk along Station Road to the junction with O’ Connell Street where the hotel is located.”

Getting to the airport: Aircoach offers services from Dublin city to Dublin Airport; your Group Leader will advise you on how best to use these services. The fare is typically EUR6 (2019 prices). A taxi to the airport from central Dublin should typically cost approximately EUR20-25 (2019 prices), dependent upon city traffic.

Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Road Scholar will also make arrangements to transfer participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar to the first site at the beginning of the program, as well as from the last site at the end of the program. Please note that our program coordinator in Ireland, EIL will be in contact with you by email to check your arrival plans with you. They will usually be in touch within 2 weeks of your program start date. If you wish to purchase airfare through Road Scholar, please call (800) 241-1404. Please note: In the unlikely event Road Scholar must make changes to the program's arrival or departure details, we will notify all participants as soon as possible. Participants who have purchased Road Scholar airfare are protected against airline change fees; however, anyone who has not purchased Road Scholar airfare will be required to make their own adjustments and may incur fees imposed by the airline.
