If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

Meet the group at Innside by Melia Barcelona Airport in Barcelona Airport

Start of Trip:  4:00 p.m. hotel check-in; 6:00 p.m. Orientation followed by Welcome Dinner.

Getting to the site: An arrival transfer is organized for all participants who purchased an air inclusive program and arrive on the group arrival date. Program Only Participants (POPs) or participants who are arriving early should make their own way to the hotel using the complimentary shuttle service. The shuttle operates 24 hours a day, every 20-40 minutes depending on the time of day. From Terminal 1 (T1): Proceed to: Parking G Wait at: Stop #5 From Terminal 2 (T2): After exiting T2B or T2C, walk outside toward the center section between them. Look for a white canopy or bus stop signage. Wait under the white canopy in the middle for the Innside by Melia Shuttle Bus Uber and similar companies are also widely available in Barcelona

End of Trip: 10:30 a.m. after breakfast; 12:00 p.m. hotel check-out. Transfers start from approx 3am.

Getting to the airport: A departure transfer is organized for all participants who purchased an air inclusive program and depart on the group departure date. Transfer vehicles vary by group. Program Only Participants (POPs) or participants who are departing late must make their own way to the Barcelona-El Prat airport at their own cost. A taxi from Girona to Barcelona Airport costs between 130€-150€ for up to 3 people. Bus and train services also operate from the center of Girona to Barcelona airport. Your Group Leader or hotel reception staff will be able to assist with information and reservations.

Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar are responsible for making their own transfer arrangements to the first site at the beginning of the program, as well as from the last site at the end of the program. The Information Packet Road Scholar sends in advance of the program includes details needed to make your transfer arrangements. If you wish to purchase airfare through Road Scholar, please call (800) 241-1404. Please note: In the unlikely event Road Scholar must make changes to the program's arrival or departure details, we will notify all participants as soon as possible. Participants who have purchased Road Scholar airfare are protected against airline change fees; however, anyone who has not purchased Road Scholar airfare will be required to make their own adjustments and may incur fees imposed by the airline.
