The places we visited were spectacular. They were places I have always wanted to see. But I would definitely ask questions about the intensity of the hikes. The altitude makes a big difference if you are not used to it. If you do not like heights check out where the hikes go, some can be a little scary. I also thought there was too much free time in this program and not a lot of options for your free time.

Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon are truly wonderful. The Road Scholar Program for grandparents/grandkids was very well done and engaging. Accommodations for bad weather were effectively made. The trip accomplished everything it was intending. This was a great experience. Thank you.

It does not get any better than this. Darrell and Paula are fantastic people who truly love what they do. We could never have given our grandchildren half the experiences they received on this trip without them. Their ability to relate to all the children, mix humor with learning, share their love of the outdoors, and relate their personal stories made this the best Road Scholar trip we have ever taken. I especially appreciated that they tried to give the children a compass for living their lives. The gift of a thankful rock will be a constant reminder to all of us that we are truly blessed. All the other activities were great and having opportunities for the children to have pool time and just be allowed to be kids was perfect. I now feel I have left my grandchildren with something far greater than money.

A wonderful opportunity to introduce grandkids to Western scenery, geology, and history

This trip surpassed my expectations! Zion was incredibly majectic, as well as spiritual; Bryce was enchanting and phantasmagorical; and Grand Canyon North Rim was majestic and mighty in a serene way! The group leaders and instructors were excellent; the driver was a delight as well! My only complaint, as well as that of my 12 year-old birthday grandson was that it came to an end far too soon! This is our third ROAD SCHOLAR trip and our feelings are the same each time...too soon to end! Many thanks to all who help to make this trip a ***** expderience!

A very well organized experience! We all enjoyed the wonderful scenery and the opportunity to bond as a family. The grandchildren in our group tended to be younger than the recommended ages; there is a big difference between 9 year olds and 14 year olds, so the composition of any particular group might affect the grandchild's experience. Our grandsons were among the oldest in our group, but at least they had each other for company.

Absolutely first rate. Our granddaughters enjoyed the scenery and the leaders. The trip logistics were flawless, probably because our fellow grandparents and their children were such wonderful travel companions. When one of our granddaughters was having trouble seeing the lizard everyone was looking at, three other children immediately helped her find the lizard. The highlight for all of us was the trail ride into Bryce Canyon. The scenery was spectacular. Our second favorite was Martin Tyner and his Golden Eagle. What a treat to see such a bird up close. Even with the record breaking heat our grandchildren are ready to go again. Thanks Road Scholar and Dixie State.

I encourage the inter-generational trip. The staff was excellent. The grandparents were friendly and welcoming to all of the grandchildren. The children were kind and fun to be with. They were respectful of the adults. Stellar trip!
