After you enroll, we’ll ask you to provide or update your personal information and preferences, which includes your health information, lodging and meal preferences for your program.

In order to enter Mexico as a U.S. citizen, you need to have one tourist migratory form (FM-T) per person. (The cost of the FM-T is included in airfare.) These forms are obtained at the first port of entry, at the borders, or at Mexican consulates and embassies. Keep the FM-T in your possession at all times and return to authorities before leaving Mexico. Procedures for obtaining the FM-T vary with the nationality of each visitor. Request the requirements for your nationality in any of the Mexican Consulates or Embassies in your respective countries.

A passport is required for this program. It must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date.

If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

Meet the group at Hotel Oaxaca Real in Oaxaca City, Oaxaca

Start of Trip:  3:00 p.m. hotel check-in; 7:00 p.m. Welcome Dinner.

Getting to the site: Participants who do not use or miss the Group Motorcoach Transfer will be responsible for securing their own independent transfer from Xoxocotlan Airport to Hotel Mision de los Angeles in Oaxaca City, Oaxaca, by using Taxi transportation. Independent Taxi Transfer Instructions: (1) Process through Immigration, Baggage Claim and Customs. (2) Locate a porter in the airport for directions to the Taxi Stand located inside the Airport. (3) At the Taxi Stand, purchase a ticket to Hotel Mision de los Angeles in Oaxaca City. (Approx Cost $15. USD) (4) This ticket purchase provides you a ride in a government sealed taxi and is the fare to the hotel. If the service warrants, you may wish to tip the driver at the end of the ride. If you are a Program Only Option participant who is planning to use the Geronimo Educational Studies airport transfer to the hotel, you must notify the Geronimo office with an email to information@geronimotravel.com no later than 15 days before program starts. In the subject line, please write the program number and the date your program starts. In the body of the email, please specify your exact travel itinerary with flight numbers, time of departure and departure city, and time of arrival. Please include all your names. This will help us to provide a better service to all of you.

Your trip ends on: Saturday, January 3, 2026 in Mexico City, Mexico at Hotel NH Mexico City Centro Histórico

End of Trip: 8:00 a.m. after breakfast; 11:00 a.m. hotel check-out.

Getting to the airport: At the program conclusion, the Geronimo Group Leader will provide participants travel details regarding the transfer from the final program site hotel to the airport in Mexico City. Airport transfers are provided only on designated group arrival and departure days. All other arrangements are considered independent travel at personal cost. Taxis are available to the airport. The cost is about $250 pesos per taxi.

Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar are responsible for making their own transfer arrangements to the first site at the beginning of the program, as well as from the last site at the end of the program. The Information Packet Road Scholar sends in advance of the program includes details needed to make your transfer arrangements. If you wish to purchase airfare through Road Scholar, please call (800) 241-1404. Please note: In the unlikely event Road Scholar must make changes to the program's arrival or departure details, we will notify all participants as soon as possible. Participants who have purchased Road Scholar airfare are protected against airline change fees; however, anyone who has not purchased Road Scholar airfare will be required to make their own adjustments and may incur fees imposed by the airline.
