Meet the group at Hilton Vienna Park in Vienna
Start of Trip: 4:00 p.m. hotel check-in; 5:00 p.m. Orientation followed by Welcome Dinner.
Getting to the site: Take the Vienna Airport Lines VAL2 bus from Vienna International Airport directly to Wien Mitte / Landstraße (has step-free boarding and luggage space), then walk about 2–3 minutes on flat ground to Hilton Vienna Park; total time ~25–30 minutes and cost about €8–9 (~$9–10 USD).<br><br>From Vienna International Airport take a taxi/Uber/Bolt directly to Hilton Vienna Park (about 16 minutes); expect about €22–30 (~$24–33 USD) for a standard taxi—Uber/Bolt are usually similar or slightly cheaper and are recommended for price transparency.
Getting to the site by train or bus: Several different routes are available via public transport.

End of Trip: 10:30 a.m. after breakfast; 12:00 Noon hotel check-out. Breakfast available depending on transfer times.
Getting to the airport: Take a taxi, Bolt, or Uber directly to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (about 25 minutes); expect €18–22 (~$20–24 USD), with Bolt/Uber recommended for upfront pricing though official taxis are regulated and similar.<br><br>The hotel can arrange a private airport shuttle directly from the hotel to the airport in ~25–30 minutes for about €48–50 (~$52–55 USD) per vehicle.<br><br>Take the 100E Airport Express bus from Kálvin tér stop, which is about a 5–7 minute flat walk from the hotel along Ráday utca and Kálvin tér square (sidewalks, no stairs required if you avoid underpasses), then ride the bus directly to Liszt Ferenc International Airport Terminal 2 via Kálvin tér to the Airport, with a total travel time of about 45–50 minutes and a fare of ~€6 (~$6–6.50 USD), paying onboard or via app with a special airport ticket.
Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar are responsible for making their own transfer arrangements to the first site at the beginning of the program, as well as from the last site at the end of the program. The Information Packet Road Scholar sends in advance of the program includes details needed to make your transfer arrangements. Please note: In the unlikely event Road Scholar must make changes to the program's arrival or departure details, we will notify all participants as soon as possible. Participants who have purchased Road Scholar airfare are protected against airline change fees; however, anyone who has not purchased Road Scholar airfare will be required to make their own adjustments and may incur fees imposed by the airline.
