The setting and pace of this program were perfect for a trip with my mother.

This was a wonderful program. Lisa Dukowitz, art instructor, was excellent, fun, and inspiring. I went with my daughter who drove me to Lake Geneva. Covenant Harbor retreat was exceptional. Great rooms, atmosphere, and food. Leader Scott was very kind and helpful, especially as I am 85 and use a rollator to walk.

Although some of the participants have taken painting classes in the past, the last time I painted was in middle school. I was so pleased with the artist's instruction about color and technique basics and her hands-on help. The history provided by the "Mary Sturges" enactor, the boat tour, and the visit to Black Point "cottage" were all wonderful. Best of all, I am pleased enough with my final painting that I will frame and hang it in my home!

Having just returned from this wonderful watercolor retreat, I can heartedly recommend it—especially for those like me with very little painting experience. From start to finish, the retreat offered a nice balance of hands-on watercolor instruction and time to relax and enjoy the beautiful lakeside surroundings. We explored a variety of techniques, including color blending, layering, and landscape composition, all in a warm, supportive, and encouraging environment. One of the highlights was the boat tour, where we learned about the rich history of the Lake Geneva area while taking in the local landmarks and scenery that inspired some of our paintings. I returned home feeling creatively stimulated, more confident in my watercolor skills, well fed, and grateful for the people I met along the way—people I will remember with fondness and admiration.

Everything was perfect. The classroom, dining area, and lodge rooms were all in the same building. The leader and instructor both get A+ ratings from me! I learned so many watercolor techniques!
