I think everything about this program was exceptional except one day. The final day involved wandering around outdoors in the heat after disembarking the ship for several hours. I would like to suggest a solution. If you started and ended the trip in Osaka, there would be a night in a hotel on both ends, making the trip both ways seamless. An extension to Tokyo for those who would like to visit that city could be added, either at the beginning or end of the trip. This would also cut the expense of the bullet train for those who may have already visited Tokyo. The rest of the program was great. The professors on board were amazing, the expedition team was engaging and informative. Having a photographer along was wonderful. I can't say enough good things about our trip leader, Liz Broomfield. She was flexible, understanding, caring and took handled details seamlessly. The ship was comfortable and the staff was beyond helpful. We loved all the stops on the tour and the sailing portion was beautiful. Thank you, Susan Sides

The Road Scholar Floating Campus tour of Japan exceeded all of my expectations and provided intellectual, social, cultural enrichment beyond my hopes.

Don't miss this one. Japan/South Korea are fascinating and bizarre at the same time. You'll come home a smile at things you recall throughout the 2 countries.

Japan off the beaten track! You won't be bored, and you may be challenged (in a good way)! And you only have to unpack and pack once.
