As a result, some program activities, schedules, accommodations, personnel, and other logistics occasionally change due to local conditions or circumstances. Afternoon:
After checking in at Silver Bay YMCA and getting your room, take some time to freshen up and relax before our Orientation session. Orientation: 6:30 p.m. We will be split into smaller groups corresponding to individual program themes (selected at time of enrollment): Theme 1: Arts and Crafts Theme 2: Watercolor Theme 3: Pickleball Theme 4: Multisport. The Group Leaders will greet everyone and lead introductions. We will review the up-to-date program schedule, discuss roles and responsibilities, logistics, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer questions. Periods in the daily schedule designated as “Free time” and “At leisure” offer opportunities to do what you like and make your experience even more meaningful and memorable according to your personal preferences. The Group Leader and YMCA staff will be happy to offer suggestions such as coordinated activities or exploring their 700-acre campus off the shores of stunning Lake George. Program activities, schedules, personnel, and indicated distances or times may change due to local circumstances/conditions. In the event of changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

In Boyd Hall.
Evening:
At leisure. Continue getting to know your fellow Road Scholars, settle in, and get a good night’s rest for the day ahead.
Activity Note
Activity levels will vary depending on chosen track: Multisport and Pickleball can expect to be outside and active the majority of the day; Watercolor can expect to be guided to areas of the grounds to capture beautiful views on canvas; Arts & Crafts will remain in the Art Center.

Morning:
You will meet with your designated theme Group Leader for an overview of the day’s activities: Theme 1: Arts and Crafts – You will gather in the Watson Art Center for an overview from the Silver Bay YMCA staff of the possible activities we will explore throughout the week including stained glass, pottery, leathercrafting and silversmithing. Theme 2: Watercolor – You will gather with YMCA staff for an overview of the week which will include watercolor instruction with breathtaking landscapes and still life. Theme 3: Pickleball – You will gather with your Group Leader and YMCA staff for an overview of the week which will include pickleball rule instruction and skills. Theme 4: Multisport – You will gather with your Group Leader and YMCA staff for an overview of the week which will include available activities which can include organized hikes, archery, ropes courses, and kayaking.
Lunch:
In the Silver Bay dining hall.
Afternoon:
This afternoon, we will continue our activities, getting to know fellow Road Scholars, and enjoying the beauty of the Silver Bay YMCA grounds.
Dinner:
In the Silver Bay dining hall.
Evening:
We will all come together to enjoy a lecture or performance by local experts and professionals.

Theme 2: Watercolor – You will gather with YMCA staff for an overview of the day and explore new landscapes to bring to life on canvas. Theme 3: Pickleball – You will gather with your Group Leader and YMCA staff for an overview of the day which will include more instruction and rounds of scrimmages. Theme 4: Multisport – You will gather with your Group Leader and YMCA staff for an overview of the day which will include available activities such as organized hikes, archery, ropes courses, and kayaking.

Continued activities.
Dinner:
In the Silver Bay dining hall.
Evening:
We will meet for another evening lecture or performance by local experts and professionals.

Theme 2: Water Color – You will gather with YMCA staff for an overview of the day and explore new landscapes to bring to life on canvas. Theme 3: Pickleball – Let the games begin! Today we will start our round robin tournament of fun! We’ll gather for a rules refresher then hit the courts. Theme 4: Multisport – You will gather with your Group Leader and YMCA staff for an overview of the day which will include available activities such as organized hikes, archery, ropes courses, and kayaking.

Continued activities.
Dinner:
In the Silver Bay dining hall.
Evening:
At leisure to relax, refresh, and reflect while exploring the vast and lush grounds of Silver Bay. Relax in Adirondack chairs near the lake or enjoy the fresh air, landscapes, and beauty all around.

Afternoon:
This afternoon, we will wrap up our activities, share our creations and memories, and enjoy our last afternoon.
Dinner:
In Boyd Hall. Share favorite experiences and enjoy camaraderie with new Road Scholar friends during our farewell dinner.
Evening:
We’ll meet for one last lecture or performance. Prepare for check-out and departure in the morning.

Morning:
We will gather as one group for our farewells and prepare for departures. A complimentary shuttle will leave at 11:00 a.m. for the Albany International Airport. This concludes our program. If you are returning home, safe travels. If you are staying on independently, have a wonderful time. If you are transferring to another Road Scholar program, detailed instructions are included in your Information Packet for that program.
