The smart move would have been to take the Queen Mary on the way TO London. I could have adjusted to the time changes more easily.

The Spies and Secrets program was great! Interesting history linked to purposeful sightseeing in London. Time on the Queen Mary 2 was magical, with so much to do in addition to our daily spy lectures.

If you are at all interested in WWII history or spies and secret agents, Bletchley Park or the Cambridge Five, code breaking and the Special Operations Executive, Churchill and his War Rooms, or enciphered messages and spy field equipment and gadgets, you absolutely need to take this trip. Kate Vigurs, our traveling historian and lecturer, is an expert on the women of SOE, the history of espionage throughout both World Wars and after, and is a great speaker who knows her material inside and out. She was fantastic, as was our group leader, Steen. The London based part of the trip was scheduled perfectly with some free time to do other things and the Queen Mary 2 is an amazing ocean liner with terrific food and activities. I highly recommend!

Spies and Secrets is an eminently enjoyable and highly educational program. There are marvelously educational places from history visited during the program which round out the experience. The leader and lecturer were superb. And a voyage on the Cunard Queen Mary 2 was a delightful addition to the program.

Each time I participate in a Road Scholar program, I say, "this was the best".
Well, this was TRULY THE BEST! The combination of a London experience and the Queen Mary 2 was perfect. The faculty was incredibly knowledgeable and provided a unique perspective.
