London Independent tour is perfect whether it is your first time or is after more than a dozen prior trips to London . Both our leader Joanna Dunne and Ruth Polling have a great selection of sights and in depth narration of what makes London's story so timely and timeless. I enjoyed it thoroughly!

Our trip to London was the shortest of our trips with Road Scholar, but one of the best. The hotel location was right where we needed to be to explore both the program and the free time available to us. What made it so wonderful was the exceptional team of leaders and guides, Jo, Ruth and Rob provided encouragement, guidance and recommendations to help us make the most of the London experience. Jo’s leadership kept the group together and moving on time to maximize the experience and had an answer for any question, Ruth’s encyclopedic knowledge tying the historical, social, financial and political together enriched the London experience and brought history alive. Rob’s encouragement and suggestions got us where we wanted to go and got us back despite the confusion of the London transit system (no street signs). All together the experience was wonderful.

The Independent London program and the group leaders are excellent. If you go you won't regret it!

The program was terrific and the guides were spectacular. London is the only European city I probably will return to and it is because of this trip. Put it at the top of your bucket list.

Excellent guiding on trips to both major attractions and some slightly more hidden gems.
If staying at The Tower Hotel, please note not all rooms are equipped with mini-fridges, so you may wish to request one before check in. Also highly recommend bringing a travel multi plug or purchasing a power strip from a Curry's location in the city or at the airport (UK equivalent of Best Buy), as to my knowledge there are no USB charging points in any room and there may be only a single outlet.
Please also note the closest Underground Station, Tower Hill, is indeed at the top of a hill and is roughly a ten minute walk from the hotel. It is not particularly steep, but certainly worth keeping in mind if you wish to use the Underground rather than taking a taxi from the hotel during free time excursions.

The only part of the program the I found unpleasant was the travel arrangements, namely the air travel. I do not want to be booked on any flight with any airline that does not allow me to select my own seat ahead of time!

Excellent program with visits to major historical and cultural sites that were enhanced by having a well qualified instructor guide us through them using the audio devices. Good balance between program activities and free time to pursue individual interests such as seeing a musical in the West End or going to other sites around London.
