After you enroll, we’ll ask you to provide or update your personal information and preferences, which includes your health information, lodging and meal preferences for your program.
Both a valid passport and a tourist migratory form (FMT – included in airfare) are required for entry into Mexico and returning into the United States. Non-U.S. citizens please check with Mexican Consulate and U.S. Immigration for individual requirements. You must keep the permit with you and turn it in when you depart from Mexico.
A passport is required for this program. It must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date.

Your passport must have 1 blank passport page(s) for entry/exit visas in this country.
A travel visa is required and it must be obtained in advance.
The cost of this visa is not included in the cost of your trip.
Please note: The state of Quintana Roo requires all foreign visitors to process a mandatory electronic permit called VISITAX. The state permit costs approximately $18 USD and must be purchased online before program begins. To start the process, visit https://www.visitax.gob.mx/sitio/ and follow the instructions. Once you have completed the form, you will receive a QR code confirming your submission. Print a copy of the QR code to bring with you and keep a digital copy on your phone. You will need to present the QR code when checking in for your return flight at Cancun International Airport.
No inoculations are required for Mexico. All drinking water and ice served in restaurants, etc. is purified. DO NOT drink water out of the tap.
Arrival day is on Monday, November 8, 2027.
Meet the group at Hotel Marriott Tuxtla Gutierrez in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas
Start of Trip: 3:00 p.m. hotel check in; Day 2 7:00 a.m. breakfast; 8:00 a.m. Orientation.
Getting to the site: Participants are responsible for making their own transfer arrangements to the first site at the beginning of the program. Taxi cabs are located outside the Baggage Claim area of the Tuxtla Gutierrez Airport. Price for the 21 miles transfer from the airport to the Marriott Tuxtla Gutierrez hotel is $25 to $30. Hotel does not provide shuttles from the Tuxtla Gutierrez Airport (TGZ).
Your trip ends on: Sunday, November 21, 2027 in Cancun, Quintana Roo at Courtyard Cancun Airport
End of Trip: 8:00 a.m. after breakfast; 12:00 Noon hotel check-out.
Getting to the airport: Courtesy transfer is available for the 5 Min ride from the last hotel in Cancun to the Cancun International Airport (CUN).
Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar are responsible for making their own transfer arrangements to the first site at the beginning of the program, as well as from the last site at the end of the program. The Information Packet Road Scholar sends in advance of the program includes details needed to make your transfer arrangements. If you wish to purchase airfare through Road Scholar, please call (800) 241-1404. Please note: In the unlikely event Road Scholar must make changes to the program's arrival or departure details, we will notify all participants as soon as possible. Participants who have purchased Road Scholar airfare are protected against airline change fees; however, anyone who has not purchased Road Scholar airfare will be required to make their own adjustments and may incur fees imposed by the airline.
