What a great program and I loved the women's only aspect of our tour. There are hikes for every level and most people become accustomed to the rocks! That is the only challenging part of the Appalachian trail in this section of the AT. Lots of learning opportunities in the making during the week at the Inn.

I stepped out of my comfort zone and it was good. Road Scholar provided the support for me and others to have a good experience. It wasn't perfect, but it was achievable.

5 STARS A large group of women (32) descended upon historic and majestic Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort with a common interest of spending some time in the PA/NJ forests along the Appalachian Trail. We made new friends, spent time with long time friends and experienced a wonderful bond of sisterhood and support. There is no better gift. This is a REAL hiking trip with limited time spent shuttling and literally HOURS upon HOURS daily of hiking beautiful terrain. This is not a walk in the woods but challenging guided hikes led by 6-8 highly skilled and experienced women that make this a fantastic adventure. I flew in and out of Allentown PA on Delta and took an Uber each way to Shawnee Inn. About 45 minutes each way and $80. The Inn is a great location with plenty to do for an early or delayed arrival and the golf course is lovely. The food was very good and as someone with dietary restrictions (no meat and no dairy) I was fed very well.
