We've both wanted to tour and learn more about the invasion of Normandy(the events leading up to it, the invasion itself and the events after to the liberation of Paris) and a Trans Atlantic crossing on a Queen has been a life long dream of mine. We couldn't have asked for more. Dr Spencer Jones is a fantastic lecturer. He is amazingly full of knowledge and so very generous with it and his time. Every day he taught us something we'd never learned before. The trip it self was fabulous...wonderful accommodations, good food and our Roads Scholar facilitator, Alex Cardoso, couldn't have been better. He was fun, extremely efficient, handled every matter quickly and with ease. The only thing that was perfect that we think Alex didn't handle himself was the gorgeous weather! We had a wonderful time, would highly recommend this trip(we are SO very glad we went) and actually would consider going again...especially if Dr Jones and Alex were the Roads Scholar representatives. HA!

More about "D-Day to the Allied Victory" would've been better, but this excursion was perfectly acceptable. Overall: **/*** = "Recommended".

Road Scholar organized everything ... even arranged for perfect weather. The ship board lectures provided context and excellent back ground to all we had seen and experienced.

The program was well thought out from planning to execution. We specifically went on this program to participate with Dr. Spencer Jones, the presenter, and were totally satisfied. Our Group Leader Alex Cardoso was amazing, very knowledgeable, engaging, and totally took care of everyone's needs. Our only "wish" is to have Dr. Jones and Alex for our next trip.

WW II settled in 7 days. A superb job of distilling a complex bit of history into the time available.
