Our trip to Alaska was absolutely wonderful! It was our first Road Scholar trip but it will not be our last. We learned so much about the people, geography and cultures of our 49th state. Our leaders, Tim and ReAnn, were exceptional in every respect! Both were so knowledgeable and possessed such zest for the beautiful areas we visited. Thank you for a memorable first time visit to Alaska!

"Amazing" is the right word to describe this Road Scholar trip! It includes unique experiences that bring you up close with Alaska. The instructors are true experts. The opportunity to learn about the Alaskan Native culture and history is enriching. Glaciers, mountains, dog sledding, trains and boats... this trip has it all.

An opportunity to see and learn so much about Alaska. Fairbanks, Denali, Anchorage, Seward and everything in between. Under the expert leadership of Tim and David we learned history, political structure, geology, nature and sea life. We were blessed with a fantastic view of Denali on a clear day. This trip “Keeps the Pace” with several early mornings and extremely full days moving from one activity to another. Meeting sled dogs, watching talented indigenous young people dance and cruising the Kenai Fjords were highlights. If you’re interested in an exceptional introduction to Alaska this trip will meet your requirements. We highly recommend this trip!

We just completed the trip "Amazing Alaska: The Last Frontier, From the Mountains to the Sea" and it was certainly amazing. The trip included so many different types of activities; lectures, museums, riverboat experience including a visit to a recreated Athabascan village with demonstrations to immerse you in the culture, a wildlife tour deep into Denali National Park, a visit to an Iditarod winning dog sled homestead, a chance to talk with a Denali ranger/climbing expert, seeing glaciers from land and sea, hiking, rafting, cruising the Kenai Fjord to see marine wildlife, all with wonderful Alaskan history shared by our Roads Scholar leaders. I highly recommend this trip if you want to experience Alaska's history, land, sea, people and culture.

Outstanding trip. We were blessed with Cheryl and ReAnn as our extraordinary guides. There wasn't much downtime, so prepare to be tired, but the tradeoff is seeing so many wonderful things. Highly recommend.

Alaska is truly amazing! Experiencing it with Road Scholars made it well worth our time and funds. Our guides and driver were exceptional and we really appreciated the flexibility of traveling with a small group of 24. The variety of learning activities made every day interesting. Several on-site guides mentioned how much they enjoy providing tours to Road Scholars because we are curious and interested. We look forward to our next trip with Road Scholars!

Excellent planning of itinerary, superbly qualified leaders, and first-class accommodations. Nancy guided us in a calm, well-prepared manner, and with humor. Loved her stories of Alaskan heroines. Traveling with Tim, our instructor, was like being in a fun graduate degree program.

This is an excellent tour which gives you an idea of Alaska which is a huge, diverse state. I think including Fairbanks, Anchorage and Seward is a perfect itinerary showing a variety of locations and peoples. I really enjoyed the trip and learned so much about the indigenous peoples. We were able to see wonderful wild life including a grizzly bear, moose, caribou, mountain goat and sea otters. I highly recommend Amazing Alaska.

Amazing! This program contained all of our "bucket list" must visits plus a lot more. The instructors....Jerri Roberts and Valerie Hershfield...were so knowledgeable and organized and having Steve and his motorcoach dedicated to our group was absolute luxury. Our fellow travelers were delightful as well. We learned so much and had so much fun that we can't wait to travel with RS again!

First Road Scholar trip and hope to plan many more. Road Scholar knows how to structure an absorbing and balanced trip. I could not have planned a more thorough visit to Alaska on my own that included nature, the environment, the varied peoples, and it's history. I am grateful for the experience and am planning the next one abroad.

Explore a place of great physical beauty and consider the lives of those who live there now and have lived there in the past. You may return home with a new perspective on what is important in life and what is not. When you are alone, unmask and enjoy the bounty of fresh air and cool breezes.
