After you enroll, we’ll ask you to provide or update your personal information and preferences, which includes your health information, lodging and meal preferences for your program.

All participants must have a passport that is valid for 6 months beyond the return date of their program.

If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

Meet the group at Hotel Kempinski San Lawrenz in Gozo

Start of Trip:  3:00 p.m. hotel check-in; 6:30 p.m. Orientation followed by Welcome Dinner.

Getting to the site: Participants who purchased their airfare through Road Scholar and will arrive on the scheduled start date to the airport, will automatically be provided with a transfer from the airport. Once you have collected luggage and passed through customs, your Group Leader or the driver will be waiting outside the ARRIVALS area, holding a Road Scholar sign. In case of a missed transfer, delays or lost luggage, contact your group leader immediately. If we do not see or hear from you within 40 minutes of your flight landing, you may risk missing your transfer. Participants who purchased their airfare through Road Scholar and who will arrive outside the designated arrival date due to pre-program arrangements (TCA) are eligible to take advantage of a group transfer from the designated airport to the starting location on the official arrival day of the program, provided they return to the airport, and make the REQUEST. Program-only Participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar (POPs) are also eligible to take advantage of the group transfers ON REQUEST. Flight details must be provided. Transfers from Malta airport to the start location will take place at approximately 10:30-12:30am and 2:30pm-3:30pm on the arrival day (Day 2). You will most likely have to wait for other participants to arrive at the airport before joining the transfer to the hotel. IMPORTANT: TCAs and POPs are required to request to join an ARRIVAL transfer no later than 30 DAYS PRIOR to departure by calling Road Scholar at (800)-454-5768, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. ET. **We are unable to arrange transfers if this information is not received in time** Taxis are also available from Malta International airport. The journey takes around an hour (including ferry transfer).

End of Trip: 10:00 a.m. after breakfast; 11:00 a.m. hotel check-out.

Getting to the airport: A departure transfer is organized for all participants who purchased an air inclusive program and depart on the group departure date. Transfer vehicles vary by group. Program Only Participants (POPs) or participants who are departing late must make their own way to Malta International airport at their own cost. Taxis are available to Malta International airport. Please reach out to your Group Leader and/or hotel staff during your program to make the necessary reservations. A departure transfer can be also arranged directly through our partners at Maltese Details by emailing: transfers@maltesedetailsintl.com . Please check your spam if you do not receive a reply within 48 working hours.

Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar (POPs) are eligible to take advantage of the designated ARRIVAL group transfers only, ON REQUEST. Flight details must be provided. Transfers from Malta airport to the start location will take place at approximately 10:30-12:30am and 2:30pm-3:30pm on the arrival day (Day 2). You will most likely have to wait for other participants to arrive at the airport before joining the transfer to the hotel. IMPORTANT: POP Participants are required to request the ARRIVAL transfer no later than 30 days prior to departure by calling Road Scholar Customer Services on (800)-454-5768, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. ET. ***We are unable to arrange arrival transfers if this information is not received in time.*** Departure transfers from the hotel in Valletta to the nearby Airport are not included for POP participants. Taxis are widely available and cost around 25€ per cab. Your Group Leader will be able to assist. Please note: In the unlikely event Road Scholar must make changes to the program's arrival or departure details, we will notify all participants as soon as possible. Participants who have purchased Road Scholar airfare are protected against airline change fees; however, anyone who has not purchased Road Scholar airfare will be required to make their own adjustments and may incur fees imposed by the airline.
