Italy is a member of the Schengen Agreement, a set of European and national standards governing different types of visas. As a result of this agreement, Americans may visit the country for up to 90 days without a visa, provided they have a US passport valid for at least six months from the planned date of departure from the EU.

If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

Meet the group at Hotel Tirrenia in Sorrento (NA)

Start of Trip:  3:00 p.m. hotel check-in; 6:00 p.m. Orientation; 7:30 p.m. Welcome Dinner.

Getting to the site: To reach the program site from the airport on your own, you a have few options. At the information desk in the airport arrivals terminal, you can get the most updated bus timetables. Please check Naples Airport website for more info: https://www.aeroportodinapoli.it/info-and-services/transport Bus: the Alibus / ANM provides shuttle bus every 25 minutes from Naples Capodichino Airport to Naples central train Station. The ride is about 15 minutes. Tickets are sold at ANM ticket offices or at the authorized retail outlets (newsagents, bars) near the airport. Ticket must be stamped as soon as you get on the bus and keep it until you get off the bus. It is possible to buy Alibus ticket also at the airport, at the vending machines, located on the ground floor of the arrivals area. From Aeroporto (capolinea) to P.zza Garibaldi/ Central Station (M1/M2/FS) Train: EAV S.r.l.: The Circumvesuviana provides train services every 40 minutes from Naples central train station to Sorrento train station. The ride is about 1 hour. The distance from Sorrento train station to the hotel is about 3.5 miles Taxi: outside the airport arrival area, there will be taxis. The ride from Naples Airport to Sorrento is about 1.5 hours. We cannot quote these services as they are public transportations. Private transfers can be arranged in advance at an additional cost. Getting to the site by train or bus: Buses and trains are available to site.

Your trip ends on: Tuesday, April 20, 2027 in Capaccio Paestum (SA) at Hotel Cerere

End of Trip: 10:00 a.m. after breakfast; 11:00 a.m. hotel check-out.

Getting to the airport: To reach the airport from the program site on your own, you have a few options. Take a taxi from the hotel in Capaccio Paestum to Paestum train station. Take the train from Paestum train station to Naples Central train Station. The ride is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Then take NM bus from Naples central train station to Naples Capodichino Airport. The ride is approximative 45 minutes (www.trenitalia.com). Taxi: The ride from Capaccio Paestum to Naples Airport is about 1.5 hours. We cannot quote these services as they are public transportations. Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar are eligible to take advantage of the designated transfers, on request. In order to be included in the transfers, participants must notify Road Scholar of their flight arrangements between 50 and 30 days prior to departure by calling 1-800-454-5768. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. ET. If your flight is delayed or cancelled causing the flight to be outside of the designated transfer times, please contact your Group Leader.
