Most of our 10 participants said that we had signed up for this trip more than a year in advance because it is so popular and fills up. Our three guides were great to be with, very friendly, and did a lot of work. We were told that by going in the fall, instead of the spring, we missed the wild flowers but also the bad mosquitoes and trail blow-downs. Both the hiking and rafting were scenic. Be prepared to be off the grid – no wi-fi or cell phone coverage for the 4 hiking days. Some of the lodges are rustic but all provide hot showers, comfortable beds, and good food. Bring a garbage bag to line your dry bag. Read the gear list and bring what's suggested. We saw lots of deer.

This program exceeded my expectations not only for the world class scenery but the competence and preparedness of all the guides. Choosing your own pace allows for customizing your experience. I highly recommend this trip!

This is a great way to see the Rouge River. Going in Spring is recomended, because of the abondence of wild flowers. The mis between hiking with some rafting is good.
