This was a wonderful trip, greatly enhanced by Gayle Felix as our guide. We met some fabulous people and learned a great deal about lobster fishing. Scenery was spectacular. The itinerary was extremely well planned with no glitches.

My understanding of the Maine coast was pretty fuzzy, but this trip sharpened many impressions that I'd had. A very worthwhile trip.

This is a five star program; t he right mixture of lectures, active adventures and museum visits. Maine is a unique place. We got a real feel for the people, their history, the lobstering and fishing industries, and present life. Excellent food and accommodations.

This is a terrific program. The scenery is fantastic, the experiences on the water are great, and you get your fill of lobster (note there are alternatives available!)!

This was a WONDERFUL program. I learned so much about ME, and really enjoyed eating lobster 4 times, the schooner and lobster boat rides and the nature cruise. Our leader, Gayle, was awesome and made the trip so enjoyable. The other participants were very interesting. Seeing Acadia was special. Our educational presentations were so informative and kept my interest throughout. I highly recommend this trip.

This is a short, easy trip with limited physical activity. You don't spend much time in any one place, but you get a nice overview of coastal Maine. There is very limited time in Bar Harbor itself (which was fine with me, since it's pretty tacky and overcrowded) - the "Bar Harbor" hotel we stayed at was well out of town - so if you want to spend a lot of time there, choose a different trip. Also be sure you like being on boats, since there are three boat rides in four days, up to 2.5 hours long. If you're a vegetarian who doesn't eat fish or shellfish: on my trip, the options for vegetarians were extremely limited and not very good. Great group leader (Corinne), great bus driver (Don) and bus, and a nicely designed trip.

This program provides a wonderful introduction to the coastal areas of Maine, the states' early geologic and industrial history, and it's present economic conditions. You will share tour experiences on both land and sea that will make you feel a part of the local culture.

This trip exceeded our expectations! One of the best Road Scholar programs we have been on. Breathtaking scenery, full coastal 'Mainer' experience; maritime adventures, lobster dinners/lunches, education, - plus another National Park. Never learned more or had such a great time. Bucket list to get to Maine fulfilled. It was a stand-out program.

This is a fabulous program. Beautiful scenery and fantastic group leader. I will definitely sign up for other programs with Gayle Felix who was our leader. Acadia was beautiful and took some amazing pictures. All the lectures were informative and entertaining -- if you go, don't opt out of any of those. Three boat rides, great hotels and we saw dolphins, seals and two bald eagles. Beautiful.
