Does music sound grander when played on a gigantic organ? Is a greeting friendlier when it’s spoken in French? Do waterfalls look more beautiful up close? Find your own answers to these questions as you and your grandchild explore the French heritage, language and food of Québec City and Montréal. Travel by train from one fascinating city to the next through the beautiful Québec countryside, and ride a cable car to see the rushing waters of Montmorency Falls. Learn a little French and try using it with Québecois at a local market, and hear a musical performance at Montréal's famous Notre Dame Basilica.
Activity Level
Keep the Pace
Walking 2-3 miles daily over varied and uneven terrain including steep hills, cobblestones and busy city streets; some standing; some stairs.

Best of all, you’ll…

  • See Montréal from the water and from the air on a boat ride along its famous Canal Lachine and a ride on the tallest Ferris wheel in Canada — La Grande Roue.
  • Explore the Parc de la Chute-Montmorency with a ride on a cable to the top of the 272-foot Montmorency Falls.
  • Travel through the Canadian countryside by train and discover two cities that are linked together by train while learning some common words in French.

General Notes

Program is for grandchildren ages 10-13.
