Nestled among trees at the Laurelville Mennonite Conference Center, both Solarhouse and Guesthouse accommodate Road Scholars in simple motel-style rooms with a private bathroom. Rooms in each of these restful retreats open to an airy lobby with a seating area. In keeping with Mennonite tradition and the center’s intent to provide guests with an environment for connecting with their surroundings and each other, there are no TVs on the campus. Along with the several miles of hiking trails, recreational activities include horseshoes, shuffleboard, bocce, and a tree-shaded mini-golf course. Good to know: Alcohol allowed in Guesthouse and Solarhouse. Smoking prohibited. No phones in rooms; courtesy phones in lobbies. Wi-Fi in select locations. Cell service spotty for T-Mobile; other carriers good. Housekeeping once a week. Most meals served buffet-style; bus own table.
