This morning we'll discuss the second day of fighting at Gettysburg before boarding the bus to visit the battlefield and view the sites where the second day's fighting took place. On our field trip we'll travel on Confederate Avenue along the Southern line of Pickett's Charge, Little Round Top, the 20th Maine monument and the Wheatfield.
Participants will enjoy lunch on their own and some leisure time to explore the downtown area.
At 4:30, we'll gather to walk to the Shriver House Museum, which has been restored and furnished to its original 1860s decor. A visit to the museum will lend understanding to what the civilians experienced and the events that took place in the small town of Gettysburg during the battle.
