Must be able to walk up to two miles a day. Be prepared for walking on uneven ground, unpaved trails or sandy beaches. There are steep stairs at some locations that will require you to be sure-footed. Elevations of 4,000-7,100 feet.

Carolyn Singh View biography
Carolyn Singh holds an M.L.S. from the University of Maryland College of Library and Information Science and a B.S. from Barnard College, where she studied urban planning. Following more than four decades as an academic librarian and instructor in three U.S. time zones and Fiji, she now resides in Southern Oregon’s magnificent Rogue Valley. She is an avid hiker, gardener, food ways volunteer, and RYS certified yoga instructor.

Ray Hillman View biography
Ray Hillman is a professional historian who also is a natural history interpreter. He has been leading groups at Redwood National & State Parks since 1992. As a graduate of UC Berkeley with degrees in American history and librarianship, he has served as curator and researcher for the Oakland Museum, Haggin Museum in Stockton, and Clarke Museum in Eureka, as well as a consultant for California State Parks. He has also taught regional history at Humboldt State University and College of the Redwoods.

Greg Ryder View biography
Greg Ryder is a park ranger and an Oregon Master Naturalist. His charismatic interpretative programs share the cultural, historic, and natural history of the Pacific Northwest and Northern California. He is the owner and operator of Two-Thirds Tours, and a contributing author to the Oregon Encyclopedia. Greg holds a B.S. in biology from Shawnee State University, and also two A.S. degrees in natural and historic interpretation and fish and wildlife management from Hocking College.
