Back Tropical Splendor: Exploring the Hawaiian Islands Tropical Splendor: Exploring the Hawaiian Islands

A map of Hawaii traces a travel route through the islands of Kauai, Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island.

The grand Iolani Palace in Honolulu, Hawaii, stands behind a long driveway and is flanked by tall palm trees under a partly cloudy sky.

A wooden boardwalk leads into a lush cave entrance surrounded by tropical ferns and hanging vines at Volcanoes National Park in Hawaii.

Waves crash against a volcanic sea arch on the rugged coast of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

A tall waterfall cascades down the dramatic red and green cliffs of Waimea Canyon on Kauai, Hawaii, under a bright blue sky.

Directions

Ship to Airport and Waikiki

The program concludes when the Pride of America docks in Honolulu Harbor. Upon disembarkation, there will be one group transfer from the Cruise Ship Pier to the Daniel K. Inouye Int'l Airport. The bus will also make a stop at the Prince Waikiki Hotel for those who would like to store their luggage in Waikiki for the day. This group transfer is available for all group participants regardless, if you booked airfare through Road Scholar. You still have the option to make your own transportation arrangements to Waikiki or the airport from the ship's shore excursion desk while on board, or you can catch a cab after disembarkation. The ship also offers shore excursions which may be of interest on the last day, and those may include a drop-off at the airport or in Waikiki.

Daniel K. Inouye Int'l Airport (HNL) to Prince Waikiki

Prince Waikiki is approximately 10 miles from Honolulu International Airport. Upon exiting the airport, turn right and get onto Nimitz Highway (Hwy 92) headed East towards downtown Honolulu and Waikiki. After downtown Honolulu, Nimitz Highway turns into Ala Moana Blvd. Keep following the Ala Moana Blvd towards Waikiki past the Ala Moana shopping center on the left and Ala Moana Beach park on the right. After passing these two sites, there will be a small bridge into Waikiki. Immediately after the bridge you'll find the Hawaii Prince hotel on the right (ocean side). The hotel's garage is accessed from the ocean side of the hotel.
