This program was even better than described. We enjoyed each boating activity for its uniqueness. The group leader, instructors and boat captains were wonderful. The accomodations (Rockport Inn) were perfect. Enjoyed the architecture and history of each town (Rockport, Gloucester, Salem & Essex). Learned so much about the fishing and shipbuilding industries as well as the art and literary history of the area. We give this program an A+.

I had no idea what a beautiful area Cape Ann, MA is! To be able to visit each of the towns & to spend each day on the water in each town area was such a delight! Ranks very high in our 23 programs we've been a part of.

This trip was exactly what I hoped for. Everything was organized for me so there was no stress. The information covered in the lectures was very interesting and the excursions were fun and informative. The group leader, Betsy, was a great "people person". And we saw an incredible number of whales!

I had a great time on this trip. Met a lot of interesting people. Enjoyed all of the different outings we had. Each boating experience was unique and special. The whale watching had to be canceled because of bad weather. Was disappointed but it is understandable. Can't wait to start searching for my next adventure!

Road Scholar - Maritime Sampler of Rockport and Gloucester areas for 5 days Thisvideo is a Road Scholar program that begins in Rockport and Gloucester. We visit the following sites on the 1st Day. We began the day at the Rockport Motif # 1 photo site and toured Rockport famous sites. We then took a bus to visit the Rocky Neck Artist Colony and walked the artist homes and Galleries. We had lunch at Studio 51 on the water and ended the day with a Schooner ride on the Thomas E. Lannnon out of Gloucester. As a Road Scholar Ambassador I alway produce slideshows and videos of each of our Road Scholar trips. You can visit this Vemio site at the following link: https://vimeo.com/showcase/5119626

If you like to explore various waterways, you love seafood, and you want to learn about an area of the country that was first settled, then the maritime program is for you.

I enjoyed the opportunity to learn about the maritime industry in a beautiful part of this country. There were multiple opportunities to be outdoors on the water in different kinds of boats. The group coordinator (Betsy) was excellent and the speakers were very interesting.

The Maritime Sampler program was very interesting and fun. We learned many facts about the fishing industry and ship building but it was done in a fun atmosphere--out on boats in the ocean or rivers every day. If you like the water it is great.
