This quiet 10-acre campus, consisting of 12 cabins and Riverside Hall, a combined dining and classroom facility, was the first in the U.S. built exclusively for Road Scholar programs. The cabins have been recently renovated and feature a shared enclosed porch (perfect for your wet gear and gathering with your cabin-mates) and two private guest rooms. Each room has two double beds and private bath. All facilities are on the ground floor with up to four steps leading into each cabin. The longest walk from your cabin to Riverside Hall is about 200 yards on a gravel walkway, and the shortest is about 15 yards. Wildlife is abundant on campus. In addition to Road Scholars, DEC hosts ravens and other birds, snowshoe hare, red squirrels, and the occasional moose.

Personal Information and Preferences
After you enroll, we’ll ask you to provide or update your personal information and preferences, which includes your health information, lodging and meal preferences for your program.
Squid Acres Kennel, the entity that will provide the dog mushing demonstration during this program, are required by their insurance carrier to obtain signed liability release waivers from all participants who participate in this activity. A link to an electronic version of this waiver will be included in the preparatory material participants will receive after enrolling in the program. Participants should review the form prior to the program, and may choose to sign the document electronically, or wait and sign in hardcopy at the beginning of the program. If you are unable to fill out the electronic version of the waiver, please contact Denali Education Center.
Visas
United States citizens don’t need a visa for any of the countries you’ll be visiting. Non-U.S. citizens should refer to their country's requirements to ensure they have the necessary documentation for travel.

This program travels through remote locations where medical facilities are limited and PCR or administered testing for COVID-19 may be unavailable. If community transmission for COVID-19 is high, Denali Education Center reserves the right to request that participants wear masks during all program activities to protect the health of both participants and staff.

If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.
