I just completed Road Scholars All Art Experience in NYC: Met, MoMA and More. This is an exceptional program if you love art in a museum, in a gallery, or public art in New York City. I felt it was worth the money. The experience will stay with me for a lifetime. I am a late blooming artist, and it was so much fun to see the pieces of art that I have studied, in real life. it’s not the same as seeing the art in a book. The expert speakers they had in the morning added so much to the program and their presentations were excellent. This program makes me want to come back on my own to see the rest of the art, galleries and museums in New York City. The group leader, Angela and her assistant Grace, were exceptional and an integral and the real reason I enjoyed this program so much. I encourage people to combine Road Scholar’s other New York City programs such as Signature cities, and the Broadway plays program while you’re here. I’m here for 21 days and each program is different, exciting, and allows me to be thoroughly immersed in the New York City experience.

Besides the wonderful museums, we had great non-museum experiences. We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge at night, We did the Hi-Line Park and the Twin Towers Memorial which added to our New York experience.

Be prepared to walk a lot and enjoy it! The art experience was a joy and the guides and lecturers skilled. We were well prepared for the art we were to see and then left plenty of time to explore museums on our own. There were evening activities that added so much to the program. Our guide, Angela Christensen, was very knowledgeable and also approachable and full of fun! Anyone with any level of art appreciation would enjoy this tour.

Expected to see a lot of art and learn about New York's museums, which I did. What I didn't expect was the great introduction to New York, some history, such a great intro to using the subways and really way more than anyone could expect in this short week. This is a great program.

I just returned from the All Art NYC program. It throughly met all my expectations and more. The hotel was a very convenient location, the food was plentiful and delicious. The art historians made our trips to thee museums meaningful and best of all was our local guide, Angela, who made the whole program work. The description of the physical demands in the brochure was accurate. We walked a lot, i.e. 4-6 miles a day.

I attended my first Road Scholar trip in October 2023. I thoroughly enjoyed the All-Art Experience in New York City. This was my first trip to NYC as an adult, and Road Scholar made it a very interesting and fun adventure. I will definitely plan to go on another Road Scholar tour in the future.

All Art Experience in NYC is a superbly organized, very active and exciting introduction to the art museums, galleries, and public art scene in the city. It includes several optional evening experiences that were quite magical, and of course the talks about and visits to MOMA, the Met, Whitney and Frick collections are some of the gems of this excellent program. Expect to walk a lot and to become comfortable using the subway and public spaces of this amazing city.

As someone interested in art, this was a must attend program for me to visit four premier art museums in a safe, informative, and enjoyable group. It required a lot of walking, but I love to walk, and the the walking included visiting some fun locations like Central Park, the High Line and crossing the Brooklyn Bridge at night (a peak experience). Finally, the instructors were PhD art historians who provided excellent context for the museum visits.
