Road Scholar is the best trip for the timid older solo traveler. I was made to feel welcome immediately. I felt encouraged and valued. I learned so much about art, so much about New York and its never sleeping reputation. Most of all I learned I can do this kind of activity and come away as a greater person, and better human. Thank you Road Scholar.

A wonderful art experience! Although I had previously visited most of the museums, the instructors lectures prior to this visit made my experience much richer. The city experience was wonderful - diverse foods, convenient hotel and wonderful leaders made it very good!

The team of Angela and Grace provided an excellent experience with the "All-Art Experience in New York City: Met, MoMA and More". They brought great energy and resources to enhance every day. All of the presenters were qualified and very good speakers. I loved this tour!

This was a really great trip. There is a lot of art in museums, galleries and public art included but also so much more. Most of the time is spent outside the “classroom” actually experiencing New York City. We saw so much of the city, walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and rode a ferry at night. I am so glad this was a very active tour. I would love to do this tour again if different museums were included, also maybe a mixture of art and a musical performance would be a good program option. The group leader, Angela, is wonderful. She really knows NYC and her interest and knowledge of art is the perfect fit for this program.

The first Road Scholar program I've ever taken and I do not know how this can be beat. Interesting, informative, fun, and I felt comfortable enough and had time enough to explore a bit on my own even though the trip packed so much into each day. Exceeded every expectation!

Outstanding, fast-paced tour of the NY art scene in quality museums and in the public domain. Excellent lectures and experienced guides. I highly recommend this tour.

All Art Experience in NYC maximized my art experience. I could not have seen or learned as much on my own. Because of our tour leader and the art lecturers, I was able to learn and see so much more than I could have on my own.

Enjoy learning about the history of the art that New York has to offer. Get up close to the beautiful paintings of famous artists and enjoy walking the streets and riding the subways with experienced leaders and instructors.

This was the best Road Scholar experience we had, out of 4. We enjoyed previous trips, but there was always something a little less than marvelous, usually the food (we are plant-based) or accommodations (only 1 of the 4). But this one was WOW. Despite the heat and having to walk in temperatures that were mostly in the high 90s and low 100s, the leader, Angela, kept us happy with her stories and amazing upbeat attitude.
The art museums are of course amazing and the lectures really helped to bring up aspects I would have missed, making it much richer. We visited MoMA, the Met, the Whitney and the Frick.
The lunches and dinners were excellent and there was always an attempt on Angela's part to ensure that my husband and I had a nice meal. Breakfasts at the Hampton are the same everywhere, so we bought ourselves some fresh fruit from the Whole Foods market nearby.
The lecturers were amazing, too. So knowledgeable and brought the subject matter to life. Just a great trip!

One of my favorite vacations in my life. Everything was well-organized, and we were able to see so much of the art and architecture of the city in a short amount of time. Our guides Angela and Grace really enabled me to thoroughly enjoy the unique sights and spirit of New York City.

I just completed Road Scholars All Art Experience in NYC: Met, MoMA and More. This is an exceptional program if you love art in a museum, in a gallery, or public art in New York City. I felt it was worth the money. The experience will stay with me for a lifetime. I am a late blooming artist, and it was so much fun to see the pieces of art that I have studied, in real life. it’s not the same as seeing the art in a book. The expert speakers they had in the morning added so much to the program and their presentations were excellent. This program makes me want to come back on my own to see the rest of the art, galleries and museums in New York City. The group leader, Angela and her assistant Grace, were exceptional and an integral and the real reason I enjoyed this program so much. I encourage people to combine Road Scholar’s other New York City programs such as Signature cities, and the Broadway plays program while you’re here. I’m here for 21 days and each program is different, exciting, and allows me to be thoroughly immersed in the New York City experience.

Besides the wonderful museums, we had great non-museum experiences. We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge at night, We did the Hi-Line Park and the Twin Towers Memorial which added to our New York experience.

Be prepared to walk a lot and enjoy it! The art experience was a joy and the guides and lecturers skilled. We were well prepared for the art we were to see and then left plenty of time to explore museums on our own. There were evening activities that added so much to the program. Our guide, Angela Christensen, was very knowledgeable and also approachable and full of fun! Anyone with any level of art appreciation would enjoy this tour.

Expected to see a lot of art and learn about New York's museums, which I did. What I didn't expect was the great introduction to New York, some history, such a great intro to using the subways and really way more than anyone could expect in this short week. This is a great program.

I just returned from the All Art NYC program. It throughly met all my expectations and more. The hotel was a very convenient location, the food was plentiful and delicious. The art historians made our trips to thee museums meaningful and best of all was our local guide, Angela, who made the whole program work. The description of the physical demands in the brochure was accurate. We walked a lot, i.e. 4-6 miles a day.

I attended my first Road Scholar trip in October 2023. I thoroughly enjoyed the All-Art Experience in New York City. This was my first trip to NYC as an adult, and Road Scholar made it a very interesting and fun adventure. I will definitely plan to go on another Road Scholar tour in the future.

All Art Experience in NYC is a superbly organized, very active and exciting introduction to the art museums, galleries, and public art scene in the city. It includes several optional evening experiences that were quite magical, and of course the talks about and visits to MOMA, the Met, Whitney and Frick collections are some of the gems of this excellent program. Expect to walk a lot and to become comfortable using the subway and public spaces of this amazing city.

As someone interested in art, this was a must attend program for me to visit four premier art museums in a safe, informative, and enjoyable group. It required a lot of walking, but I love to walk, and the the walking included visiting some fun locations like Central Park, the High Line and crossing the Brooklyn Bridge at night (a peak experience). Finally, the instructors were PhD art historians who provided excellent context for the museum visits.
