This is a good introduction to many different National Parks, Monuments and state parks and monuments. Go with a group and leave the logistics to the experts.

We really enjoyed this program. We got to explore multiple national parks and sites we wanted to visit, and the trip made it easier than it would have been on our own. We especially enjoyed time to hike and explore at our own pace at Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon National Park

My first ever travel experience solo and it was perfect! I made friends with all the other participants, saw sights that I never dreamed I would all in one trip. Every location was breathtaking! Our leaders were kind, warm and encouraging. I recommend taking the Canyonlands trip at the end of October when the parks aren’t crowded and the weather warm but not hot.

The national parks and national monuments visited on this trip were all amazing. This trip provides a good variety of the beautiful natural world in our country. The escort, Joel, and the bus driver, Ray, made this trip one of the best experiences I have ever had on a bus trip. They were both very knowledgeable, kind, and patient. Thank you to both of them.

This was our first Road Scholar trip and it far exceeded our expectations! We're already planning our next one! Our Driver and Guide were extremely knowledgeable of the area and kept it interesting (including the time spent on the bus). We also had a great group of people which made everything fun.

An excellent program of the Southwest USA. I was shown locations and landscape that I previously had no knowledge of. We learned of the tribal customs of several tribes and saw their homelands. We saw many beautiful locations, landscapes and parks.

Our first Road Scholar trip was to Yellowstone 2 years ago. We were so impressed, we booked this SW Canyon adventure, and couldn't be more pleased we did. In fact, we have already booked a third for next year in South America. If you have a yearn to learn, Road Scholar is where you want to be.

This was my fifth Road Scholar program and like the other four was a great value and a great experience. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to see and learn about the American Southwest.

Each day was better than the next and it started at a 10. Hard to believe how many incredible sites we visited, full of beauty, history and acience.

The Canyonlands trip was amazing. We visited many extraordinary places. It was all made so easy and we learned so much about this region. Our guides gave clear instructions and attended to us cheerfully whenever special needs arose. We had just enough time to relax between our jaunts in the desert. This trip exceeded my expectations by quite a lot.

This program is amazing. You learn so much, see places you’ve never seen before. Meet people that are awesome!! The staff involved was great, places we stayed were great!!!
— Review left April 20, 2025
We had a fantastic time and learned so much as this was our first time exploring this region. We appreciate the thorough planning and organization required to run an 11 day trip and we can't say enough good things about our guide, Matt Turner, and our driver, Ray Coin. Matt thoroughly amazed us with his knowledge of the geography, geology and the history of the indigenous people of this region. He also quickly dealt with the changing climate to ensure that everyone was comfortable during the trip and remained calm and patient throughout. Ray is an expert driver and made sure that we kept on our schedule!
The itinerary of this trip was incredible. Looking back, we couldn't believe that we covered so much in such a short time. The changing weather and landscape added an element of surprise to each day which made it even more enjoyable.
The food and accommodations during the trip were excellent and we felt that there was ample free time for us to explore as we wished.
Lastly, we very much enjoyed the company of everyone on this trip! We laughed heartily at all the stories everyone shared along with the crazy antics from time to time. It was a perfect trip and we will treasure these memories for a long time. This was our first RS trip and it won't be our last!
Sincerely,
James and Helen

This trip through Arizona and Utah was first rate! As said before, Daphne, John and Ray were all excellent and we enjoyed getting to know them and we clearly saw their pride and knowledge of the area. I thought the accommodations were exemplary because we were always very close to each park in motels with years long waiting lists if you try to book on your own. As in all national parks, some of the lodgings are older and rustic and the food will not be gourmet. I think that is part of the charm. You are allowed to immerse yourself in the wild and historic places you are visiting. I do think that maybe better descriptions of obstacles, such as the stairs at Gouldings, would allow potential travelers to understand that there is certainly a demanding physical aspect to this trip. And I know Road Scholar can’t plan the weather, but March was a perfect choice for me. I loved the rain in Sedona and the snow at the Grand Canyon and Bryce! Thank you, Road Scholar, for offering this trip so early in the year.

We couldn't have been happier about our experience on our Road Scholar.Absolute Southwest Canyonlands Adventure. Every location was as astounding as the last. The itinerary each day is thought out, and well paced with plenty of rest stops and shopping opportunities. And we were fed very well. Don't hesitate to follow your dreams and go see these beautiful National Parks and other sites of interest. You won't be disappointed.

Overall, a highly scenic trip with incredible natural wonder views. Our team leader, Daphne, was organized and prepared a matrix that nicely summarized every day on one side and listed all program participants on the other. It was highly convenient as it fit in the RS neck holder. John, her assistant, is a long term Flagstaff resident and offered many insights. Ray Coin, our native bus driver, was highly skillful and helpful.
But all wasn't great. Not because of our leadership team but because of Northern Arizona Universities who organized the trip. It is a highly frugal organization and it showed every day. First, the bus was a nightmare. A top to bottom broken windshield that posed a life hazard was the start. No cup holders, no mesh seat back bags to hold bottles, tiny overhead bins, a toilet that we were cautioned about using, uneven heating...the list is too long.
Next, we stayed in two star hotels at best. They were places I would have walked out on, several offering long walks to breakfast dinner. For example, at the Grand Canon it was a 8 minute uphill walk at 7000 feet and when it snowed, several of us nearly got lost as the path from the restaurant to room was hidden by snow (and no lights). At
Gouldings in Monument Valley we had to climb 75 outdoor stairs (again at 7000 feet) to get to breakfast and dinner. At Brice (8000 feet) nearly all participants complained about not sleeping due to the altitude.
Next, the meals were cheap and terrible. Mostly Mexican buffets. I like Mexican but good grief--day after day. Lunches were mostly sack and even when we were given a choice, they frequently came back as pressed turkey.
My advice, stay away from RS trips planned by NAU. We have 10 trips with RS with another in a month. Never again with NAU.

I recommend going in the fall after school starts, venues were not crowded and just better experience overall. I went on last available dates and doing layers to deal with sometimes chilly weather is preferable to me than sweating in hot weather.
— Review left November 22, 2024
We would not have been able to experience in such a care-free, enjoyable, and thorough way these mind-expanding and wonderful places without the structure, leadership, and execution of the Road Scholar staff and program from start to finish. It is greatly appreciated!

I recently participated in the Canyonlands tour and I was thouroughly impressed by the Group Leaders, David Best and David Hall. The trip was very informative and very relatable. The Itinerary was sent out and gave a wonderful description of the daily activities, accommodations, food, and activity level. I was very impressed with the participants and met wonderful people. This was my first trip, but it will not be my last. Thank you to the Group Leaders and our wonderful bus driver Ray!!

Absolute Southwest — A Canyonlands Adventure featured a great itinerary. In addition to spending time in the Grand Canyon NP we toured other areas along the Colorado River basin like the Glen Canyon/Lake Powell/Page, AZ area and we got to spend two nights on the Navaho reservation. It was a wonderful experience and my personal highlights were seeing the Northern Lights and watching a condor fly over Zion NP.

The Road Scholar trip to the Ultimate Canyonlands was just spectacular. While it is a long trip you will experience the wonders of the Southwest. I traveled as a single among new friends on a spectacular journey. The Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Antelope Canyon, Bryce Amphitheater, Zion. What a bucket list! The Colorado river from the top of the rim of the Grand Canyon to the float trip below. Oh the colors of our National Parks!

This was an absolutely amazing trip! The locations we visited were beautiful, and our time was so well organized. Dave Best and Dave Hall were marvelous guides, and we all learned so much! The people at Road Scholar thought of everything! We were even given the special glasses so that we could view the eclipse! The eclipse was not related to our trip, so I was very impressed that the RS staff make provisions for us to enjoy that event.
Every stop was meaningful with instructions on what to look for and explanations for what we saw. Dave Hall led us on some great hikes and both Dave Hall and Dave Best shared their passion for the Southwest with us.
I cannot recommend Road Scholar enough, and I do plan to travel with them again.

I just completed a fabulous trip with Road Scholar “Absolute Southwest, a Canyonland Adventure, an 11 day trip at “keep the pace”. Every day was a wonderful adventure with walks up to 2 miles but options to do more. The trip was accommodating to various levels of ability and many stops for getting on and off the bus. This trip was above and beyond my expectations and I loved walking the different paths and enjoying the scenery with stops for breaks along the way. The tour guides were very attentive to everyone and open and genuine in their mannerisms and knowledgeable about this whole area. I enjoyed seeing so much of the canyons including Monumental Valley, Montezumel Castle, Antelope Canyon and so much more. The river rafting trip at at Horseshoe Bend was amazing with lunch along the way since it took over 4 hours. I loved everything about this trip and this was my very first solo trip with a wonderful group of new friends. I would highly recommend this wonderful trip which was educational, enlightening and wonderful adventures every day. Thank you Road Scolar for this wonderful trip of a lifetime.

The places on the itinerary were glorious. The trip leaders were extremely knowledgeable & kind, as always. But for this skinny celiac, finding solid, nourishing gluten-free food was very hard. And March is a beast, I discovered: it was very, very COLD in northern Arizona & southern Utah, heavy snow & rain or not. I suggest not offering a departure date for this itinerary until very late March.

Absolute Southwest was my first Road Scholar trip and it did not disappoint. Everything about this trip was amazing. We saw some of the most beautiful and special places in this part of the country with two of the best guides who taught us so much while keeping us laughing in the process. Everything was so organized and every contingency was thought of. Accommodations were great and food was good. I am a solo traveler and the group was so welcoming and fun. I had a roommate and she and I got along great and will keep in touch. If you're considering travelling with Road Scholar, especially if you are solo, I highly recommend it and I will definitely travel with them again.

You will learn intellectually the how and why of the landscapes but the spiritual aspect of the amazing gloriousness of the place we call earth is from the heart and soul. Immerse yourself in the beauty and awe of Arizona and Utah. You will not be disappointed.

The Southwest Canyonlands adventure was a perfect exploration of the landscapes of the Southwest. I loved seeing the sweep of the landscapes and the connections among the many geologic features. The guide gave us a great understanding of the geology, plant, and cultural life of this immense area. Colors, rocks, canyons, mesas, deserts --it was all there to enjoy, and with some time for being on my own in these special places.

The Southwest program led by Stewart Lasseter was filled with spectacular experiences in different national parks and canyons from the Grand Canyon to Zion National Park. He is fascinating to listen to as he knows about the terrain, culture and history of each separate destination one visits on his trip. This trip was fabulous and deserves top notch reviews! He is excellent and the experience is one of a lifetime!

Adventures in the Great Southwest was probably my favorite tour ever. I expected to be taken by the beauty of the canyons etc. but I was awestruck. I anticipated enjoying my favorite travelers but they became an extended family. And I assumed the tour guides would be good but Bryan and Barbara Bates were beyond that. They were knowledgeable, organized, warm and approachable. If you ever get a chance to do this trip, with these leaders, do not hesitate!

Places taken to and sights seen were spectacular. This was the reason I chose this trip, and I was very glad I did.
Hotels and restaurants were all excellent choices.
It was a bit more strenuous than expected, and it needed guidance on when to take walking sticks.
— Review left November 10, 2022
The trip was beautiful with daily scenery of amazing sights.
We returned home with cold symptoms and right away tested Covid positive. Others on the trip tested positive as well when they returned home. I called the R.S. emergency number so everyone could be informed (Sat. morning) It was not until late Monday that a notice was sent out to the participants. I believe that because the Covid variants are highly contagious, when we were with the general public (shopping, etc) the R.S participants should have been encouraged to be masked.
I also suggest starting the trip from Las Vegas. Perhaps the weather of Zion and Bryce would be less likely to be wintry at the beginning of the journey.
1/15/2023 A follow up to my first review: Both my wife and I had cold like symptoms for a week to 10 days from Covid we caught on the R.S. trip. I recovered, but my wife is suffering from long-covid (for over two months now). She has had a swelling of her knee, which has been painful and seriously affects her ability to walk. She has started physical therapy and is slowly improving. Travelling with 40 people for 11 days is risky. We were asked to test for Covid before beginning the trip, but it was not mentioned at the introduction meeting. We were told "all of us have had the vaccinations and that is all we can do". However, we should have been advised to wear masks while travelling on the bus, when socializing with each other, and especially if shopping/ socializing with people not a part of Road Scholar. Also, anyone with covid like symptoms during the program should be required to take a test (hopefully provided by Road Scholar). Dining with an infected participant is probably where we caught the virus. The variants are highly contagious, so be as cautious and safe as you can while with other travellers.

My husband and I were a bit nervous about signing up for a 12-day adventure without knowing anyone else on the trip. Our fears were completely unfounded. We loved everything about the Absolute SW Adventure, including all the new friends we met and enjoyed. The RS leader was very knowledgeable, and he was clearly excited to share the geology of the area with our group. We learned so much! We also appreciated the outstanding co-leader, who joined us toward the end of the trip, and the excellent bus driver. We are still pinching ourselves because of our good fortune. This was the fourth RS Program for my husband and me. The other three were international and this was the first in the US. We've always wanted to visit the US National Parks and I started to plan the trip on my own. However, when we looked at what RS offered, we realized that the RS Program, Absolute Southwest: A Canyonland Adventure, was the best way to do what we wanted at a very reasonable cost and without the headache of having to drive long distances in unknown places. We loved the program and the company of the other 31 RS participants. We were very fortunate to have Stewart Lasseter as our group leader and Ray Coin as our coach driver. Stuart's knowledge of geology, history, culture, and vegetation of the different areas we visited was outstanding. He is the best RS Program leader we have had so far. He spent a great deal of time, during our long coach trips, educating us with very clear and eloquent explanations about the the different areas we visited. He also gathered a great deal of handouts and books to circulate among us while we were in transit. We learned a great deal about the geology, the native cultures and settlers of the region, and the landscapes on the Colorado Plateau. We spent a great deal of time in the Navajo Nation and learned a great deal about their way of life and culture. Our interaction with real Navajos, during our tour of Monument Valley and during the time we spent in their Reservation, was one of the most memorable experiences of this program.

Excellent trip from start to finish. Group leaders Jennifer and Jeff were knowledgeable and personable. In addition to being an skillful and safe bus driver, Karen gave us insight to her personal Navajo experiences. Our group leaders, Jeffery Strang and Jennifer Beltz brought much to the table for learning, experiencing and enjoying this entire adventure! Karen, our bus driver was excellent! We couldn't have had a better person at the wheel! Her morning greetings, smiles and comments added to our days.
The program was educational and it allowed each of us personal time to hike. The parks are exceptionally stunning and this trip exceeded all of my expectations. To quote from another Road Scholar reviewer: "Just go!" You won't be disappointed!
Suggestions: * Some hotels have laundry facilities. * Traveling in April, Utah parks were cold. Warm clothing was appreciated.
Yes, I will travel again with Road Scholar!

The Absolute Southwest Canyonlands Adventure was one of the most satisfying experiences we have enjoyed with Road Scholar. A perfect mix of education and time for personal enjoyment of the canyons. The views are beyond believable and you are given time to enjoy them on your own, with the leader, and on a couple of really fun adventures.

The itinerary met and probably surpassed expectations. No need to expound on the superb qualities of our driver, Ray, and our leader, Bruce Banker. Also had the bonus of having Dave Best with us for several days. The trip was an exceptional educational exercise.
Other than some minor meal issues no recommendations for change in program. Geologically, the inclusion of the 3 canyons, beyond their popularity, makes perfect sense.
One caveat. For 80 year olds, the program is strenuous. Even the younger were tired by the end of the day.
Again my thanks to Bruce and Ray for making this an unforgettable experience.

I truly enjoyed EVERY moment of the "Absolute Southwest - A Canyonlands Adventure". The guides were exceptional - very interesting, knowledgeable, helpful and engaging. The itinerary, field trips, programs, transportation, accommodations and food were topnotch.

Excellent program. Well organized and educational. Very happy we chose this adventure. Learned a great deal from our excellent guide and instructor (Bruce). Quality of lodging and meals was excellent. You’ll have a hard time finding another program that covers so large a geographic area, in such a relatively short period of time, as comprehensively as this one. This was our 5th Road Scholar program and won’t be our last. Highly recommend!

Fantastic Program - - a definite learning experience with talented leaders - - would highly recommend

Wonderful trip--loved the interesting places we visited, with informative narratives from guides regarding the geology and customs/history/challenges of Native Americans. It's a busy trip with lots to see and learn. It's hard to imagine going to these places without Road Scholar, who offers a deeper understanding of what you are seeing and experiencing. ~ Barbara

The trip was very interesting through a seldom visited part of the country. Due to pandemic supply chain issues the meals were not as wonderful as on any of our other Road Scholar trips.
Perhaps Road Scholar could review the itinerary on the program as the physical activities were very different from the activities listed. Perhaps this would be better listed as a hiking program. Many in our program opted out of several activities as they were pretty strenuous at elevation.

Go. Just go. This was a spectacular trip, so much information, such much spectacular scenery, such great tour personnel. It was wonderful having a geologist as a tour leader to educate, explain, and answer our questions. It was the epitome of Road (yes, there's lots of bus time) and Scholar (great to learn about the geology). Dave (tour leader) and Alex (driver par excellence) were wonderful.

This was our fifth trip with Road Scholar but the first domestic destination. We love visiting the Southwest and had previously visited many of the locations included in this trip. With Road Scholar, our experiences were richer because our group had the good fortune to be led by Jeff Strang and Kristin Hooten. We learned about geology, botany, history, local culture and more. We had fun with our very congenial fellow travelers. And we left the driving and planning to someone else! The sights are stunning and the activities are delightful. Loved the float trip at Glen Canyon.

You cannot go wrong by choosing Road Scholar. Activities to meet every interest, leaders passionate about the program and their subjects, eager and interesting participants and good value for money; all excellent reasons to choose RS. We have been on 10 so far, never disappointed.

The Absolute Southwest program was one of the best of our 21 Road Scholar programs so far. It enable us to experience not only our iconic national parks but also areas we had not been able to visit easily before, such as the Navajo Nation and Monument Valley.

This is a wonderful program! All the guides were informative and fun!
I enjoyed the fact that you could hike at your own pace or opt out if you chose to.

Everything about this trip was great. Our group leader, Bryan Bates, is incredibly passionate and his depth of knowledge is impressive, especially of Native Americans (with the Navaho nation in particular), of geology and of the Southwest/Colorado Plateau in general. Everything on the itinerary was worthwhile. I can't think of anything that I didn't like.

This was my 10th Road Scholar trip and rates right up there with all the other fantastic experiences I have had travelling on Road Scholar programs. The sights on the Canyonlands Adventure were spectacular and our leader, Dave, gave us fascinating geological facts explaining how such sights came to be. Other life-time learners on the program were delightful travelers whom I count now as friends. Nita from Georgia

Our group leader Dave Hall and our bus driver Alex Rangel were an exceptional team. Alex in my opinion is not your typical bus driver. He was more of a co leader participating with the group and sharing his knowledge as well. It was nice to have two knowledgeable individuals who were familiar with the places we visited. If I had to choose from Phoenix, Sedona, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Glen Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Bryce, or Zion, it would be a difficult choice. Each place I learned and took away knowledge that will have an everlasting impact on me for the rest of my life. From the scenery, the history, the culture of the inhabitants, the weather, the personal challenge of gaining less of a fear of heights, and the sharing of this experience with fellow travelers I have once again grown. Life is good.

This trip was a dream come true. If you enjoy beauty in nature this trip is for you. Our trip almost didn't happen though. Road Scholar requires all participants to be vaccinated. And we were given an unvaccinated bus driver. Don Lago gave us a choice not to go on the trip if we chose not to go. I asked our bus driver if he had Covid at anytime and he said, "yes" which gives him antibodies. The group chose to go on the trip. Our bus driver, Brian was the best driver ever! He was professional, experienced, courteous, helpful and he was respectful to Don Lago. He drove on switch backs with no shoulders, could park the bus in tight places, an expert driver, and was always polite. In the information that Road Scholar sent out, it said to be flexible and that's what we should do especially when Road Scholar is trying to get back on their feet. And people had a choice not to go on the trip if they felt uncomfortable with an unvaccinated bus driver. We flew to Phoenix with unvaccinated and vaccinated people as well. Over all, we had a blast and meet so many wonderful friends. It was the best Road Scholar trip out of 4 that I've been on! It was the beauty of God's creation, new friends and without Brian, our bus driver, it would not have happened!

This is a great trip yo make. The scenic wonders of the Southwest are on full display. The air is so clean and refreshing and the lack of humidity is invigorating. The trip is such a great value that we may repeat it!

Superb program -- provides a comprehensive and enjoyable overview of the significant history, geology and attractions of the American Southwest, its Native American cultures, and its significant National Parks and Monuments.

This was a great trip. Highly recommended if you want to see a number of our great National parks. The highlight was the trip into Monument Valley with a Native guide. Not something you could do on your own. I went the last week of September and first week of October, to avoid summer heat. Be advised that the temperature that time of year is quite variable and requires some skill in packing for temperatures down to the low 50’s and up to the low 90’s and still have a suitcase you can lift. Something you might want to include is a swimsuit as several of the hotels had nice pools and hot tubs. Also, the Monument Valley trip will leave everything covered in a fine red dust, but you can do laundry at the hotel the following night so bring detergent and a dryer sheet.
I feel the physical rating of this trip is accurate. You will be in parks with short hiking opportunities. None of the hikes are especially hard or long, but some are at elevation, are slippery, or are walking uphill in loose sand. If you have ambulation limitations or breathing difficulties you might want to reconsider. But for the average person, I say go for it. You will get your steps in and see amazing sights.

Outstanding experience. Every day and each park was different. Good pacing. Enjoyed the free time at Grand Canyon and Zion National Park.

This program took us to incredible sites in the Southwest -- some very well known and others less known. Experiencing them with our guide Matt Turner, who knows so much about the geology and gets everyone excited about what they are seeing, was a wonderful experience.

Great program. Learned a lot about the unique geology of Arizona as well as plant life. I have seen Grand Canyon 3 times before, but this time I really saw it for all of it's beauty and natural formations.

Road Scholar allows me to experience a destination in ways that I could never do on my own. The in depth information that is provided from a historical, cultural and social perspective about a place or community makes the trip a special experience. On my own I could say I was there. With Road Scholar I can say that I gained insights and information that I would not on my own. Road Scholar has never failed me and has always exceeded my expectations. Looking forward to my next RS adventure.

The program itself was fantastic! It was a disappointment to me when I arrived in Phoenix to find that "I would not have a roommate"! I was told when I enrolled that I would have one - since I have a hearing problem, it was comforting to know that there would be 4 ears instead of two to make sure no instructions were missed. Would have appreciated a "heads up" from the main office...

This was a wonderful program. My husband has a degree in mining engineering and enjoyed the program as much as I did. I knew little about Geology. We have traveled internationally with more expensive tour groups and enjoyed this tour as much as those.

My recent trip to the Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion National Parks, Monument Valley with Road Scholar was really wonderful. It was extremely well organized and had a geologist leading the group. He was personable and knowledgeable. There was a balanced mix of education and time to explore both with the group, and separately, if desired. Accommodations were very comfortable and often in beautiful locations. Food was plentiful. I have nothing negative to say about this program. I look forward to more trips with Road Scholar.

Want to have a wonderful travel experience, without the worry of what exit do I take/where shall we stop for supper/will the hotel I picked online live up to its internet description? Then let Road Scholar do all of that, and more, for you! Wonderful, thoughtful leaders, who always think ahead, as well as provide knowledgeable commentary on what we are seeing, whether from the windows of the coach, or hiking, or in a museum. The value, as well as the experience, cannot be topped!

This was one of the best non-hiking trips we have taken. We saw so much beautiful country and learned so much about the American Southwest.

This trip far exceeded my expectations. First I must credit the participants for making the many tours and meals so perfect. Our guide, Joanna, was wonderful - she kept us well informed and coordinated those tours and meals with great skill. There was a perfect amount of free time available for self-directed activities. And last, but not least, Karen, our driver was so warm, engaging, informative - and a great driver!

We just returned from "On the Road: Absolute Southwest- A Canyonlands Adventure" and loved it. From start to finish we were amazed at the beauty we saw. We learned so much and this made it even more special. We were blessed with great weather so the hiking, the float trip, and other field trips were enjoyable. We loved Don Lago-his knowledge and humor added so much to this adventure. The accommodations were good and the food amazing. We had some picnics that added to the adventure. I had been concerned about the timing and weather, but we learned to layer clothing so we stayed comfortable. We are excited to plan our next adventure with Road Scholar!

We completed this program this AM and I tried to open the Program Evaluation but failed. The evaluation site claimed "Error" and unavailable for both Charlene and myself. My comments re this trip are that the food was superior, the sties visited were outstanding, the lodging was great and due to Road Scholar's insistence, the weather was also outstanding. My only negative was that the group leader suggested to the 40 participants that a gratitude be considered for one of the trips three bus drivers and several of the trips tour guides. My understanding has always been that all gratitude's were included in our program costs and unless someone felt so inclined, any gratitude offering should be outside a leaders suggestion.
Thank you, John W Gilbert, a 67 time program attendee.
