My granddaughter and I both loved this trip! She is still talking about it. She and I enjoyed the surfing and the snorkeling the most. Our guide, Mel, was fabulous. All the kids loved him and his assistant, Kai. They taught us the real meaning of both aloha and ohana. All our accommodations were outstanding. Every one on the trip learned so much while having a fun time

This was a wonderful program and experience. All the activities were great, the leaders were engaging and I felt connected to Hawaii in a way that was more intimate than on any of our others trips to the islands.

The trip was wonderful and our guides were the best!! I am writing to express one concern. I always prefer that Road Scholar handle the travel arrangements so that I can focus on enjoying the trip with my grand child. Therefore, my airport transfer was arranged by Road Scholar. When we arrived at the airport we followed the directions to find Roberts Hawaii Express Shuttle. They were at the designated point. Everything went downhill from there. We were switched after a considerable wait to a different buss while we waited for them to fill every seat on the buss. Then the Road Scholar guests were driven around every stop, letting off other passengers until we reached the final stop which was ours. Sincerely,

My hope was for a trip that was fun, interesting, interactive and that my grandsons would remember "as the best trip ever". Completely accomplished. Having done a dozen adult Road Scholar trips previously, I found this trip exceeded my expectations. The guides Malele and Kaika were perfect for both kids and adults. Activities were great and a little different from regular tourist fare. This was the first time I went surfing and worked on a taro farm. I recommend this trip for any grandparent whose main goal is to have memorable experiences interacting with their grandkids more than for educational purposes (although some of this was provided as well). Five stars!

If you want a program with lots of active water-based activities for your middle-school aged grandchild, this is for you. I was disappointed that there was not more educational experiences for the adults (yes, we participated in the outdoor stuff, but I wanted at least some "classroom" time. My 14 year old granddaughter loved it!
